Walter
Andrews is one of the most influential scholars and writers in the field of Ottoman
and Turkish literature. In addition to
his several articles and groundbreaking books, he has made two videotapes on Karagoz and Hacivat, a shadow
play whose characters and texts originated in the Ottoman-era folk tradition. Recently, he has been working on dramatizing
Galip’s Beauty and Love. He will serve not only as the dramaturge, but
also as the content advisor of the project.
