This was the last day the contractors would be coming until the countertop is delivered (the estimate on that is three weeks), so they were here late wrapping everything up. All the crown molding was installed, along with some of the undercabinet molding, the divider between the range and dishwasher locations, the cabinet hardware (AKA handles) and the new overhead light fixtures. Plus they cleaned up the area.

The cabinets, with the crown molding finished, some of the undercabinet molding installed and the hardware (handles) attached. The empty spots for the range (left) and the dishwasher (right). As you can see, we had to move the plug for the range slightly. The plan is to prime the wall in these spots before the appliances are installed.

A close-up of the hardware and the crown and undercabinet molding. A view of the cabinets from a different angle, with the pantry visible.

The empty spot where the new refrigerator will go. Close-up of the four drawer cabinet. Since the bottom drawer is bigger than the others, I had to decide if its handle should be centered vertically or be the same distance from the top of the drawer as the other, smaller drawers.

The bottom of the pantry, raised up off the floor to compensate for the unexpectedly large number of flooring layers. Some of this will be concealed by the new flooring, the rest by a piece that's on order. A shot of how the wall opening trim interfaces with the pantry.

A view of the new, slightly smaller, wall opening. The new light fixtures.
