The Avatar of the Logrus

Present - None

When Finndo (The Goblin King) destroyed the Orb, the higher functions of Logrus ceased to exist, and with them, the Avatar.

Past - Suhuy Helgram

For over a millennia the Logrus was without an Avatar. This was due to the fact that the person it wanted was beyond its reach, on the other side of the Chasm that split the two realms.

When Ygg was regrown, and the Chasm mended, it acted quickly, claiming the ancient teacher, Suhuy, for its own.

Powers

While these can only be guessed at in their full extent, it is safe to assume that Suhuy, as living embodiement of the Logrus, had all of the abilities available to a Logrus Master. It is how far his abilities extended beyond the normal that is the question...

Past - The Serpent

The Serpent came to this world from beyond, with its companion, the Unicorn, (or so they were both named by the Fae.) It was the Serpent that battled Jack o'the Willows for a claim on the new land, and the Serpent who ultimately betrayed both Jack and the Unicorn, leading, eventually, to the creation of Amber and the Pattern by Dworkin.

The Serpent was ultimately defeated by one of its descendents, Ahab by name, in a plot largely fashioned by the Unicorn, as well as Prince Caine. The Serpent had regained its eye and was moving to rid the land of the Unicorn and her descendents. The Unicorn had forseen that while the eye could be regained, it would cost much - the life of one of her children. Corwin, of course, volunteered, but his son, Ahab, King of Amber, was not willing to let him go. Caine leaked just enough information in the Unicorn's overall plan to the King to coerce Ahab into using his power on Caine, who was then forced to reveal the location of the confrontation.

King Ahab, along with his bodyguard, the hellmaid Ariadne (Benedict's daughter), were then killed in an attempt to save Corwin from the Serpent. And while they were unsuccessful in this act, they did distract the Serpent for long enough for the Unicorn to inflict a mortal wound upon her adversary of old.

Caine's motivation in all of this? The Serpent had to be stopped, and since he really didn't think Ahab would be able to hold Amber together, he killed two birds with one stone.
