From seddy@deathstar.orgSun Mar 26 20:38:44 1995 Date: Sun, 26 Mar 1995 12:04:44 -0500 (EST) From: Sean Frost To: thari Subject: usires 62 USIRES (session 62) This is not the wisest thing to do. I have done foolish things before, usually for lack of good information or in the heat of anger and battle, but this plan to rescue Ariadne has a very obious flaw. It is not good for one's health, to annoy the Hendrakes, again. Since she is family, if rather unusually so, if I understood Bartholomew correctly, (I wish he would learn to just say what he means, and have done with it) then she deserves rescuing. But then she is also apparently related to the Hendrakes, from whom she needs the rescuing. Bartholomew insists that she doesn't want to associate with the Hendrakes anymore, or some such strange thing. This is apparently why the Hendrakes are holding her. What a muddle. I miss the simplicity of Rimmersgard; if someone invades you, kill 'em or enslave 'em. Simple. Not knowing anything about chaos except on general terms, I don't have any help for Bartholomew to organize this rescue. I'll just have to see what he comes up with. I hope he recruits more help. I don't fancy holding off the entire house alone, even with the help of his spells. Perhaps I should lay low for a while after this mission. The Hendrakes might find more important matters to occupy their time, and I might find a purpose to hanging around Amber, some way to actually contribute to the realm. Benedict definitely has the local military matters firmly in his hand. I can help little there. The Unicorn?...No, I need to be more active than buffing statuary. Peace and meditation are fine, but I must enjoy the thrill of _living_ as well. Sailing? Hmmm...makes sense; I enjoy it, and it's Caine's contribution around here as well. Obviously I have a lot to learn about sailing ships such as they use here, though.
