The ridiculous banter at meals, the posturing and bluster, the enigmatic observations and the sly remarks, all without the slightest basis in anything which isn't either known to all ore so fresh that it hasn't been thought of by the perpetrator, does little to aid digestion and less to entertain. Rinaldo's bit of fun did nothing to improve the condition of luncheon, lacking as it did both subtlety and appropriateness. I do hope that his lesson will educate him in the proper application of power. In the meantime, it appears that this has been the most delightful occurance in quite some time, and we are doomed to hear about it for a longer time yet. Felix's retribution, of course, merely fueled the hilarity. It is with no great reluctance that I depart this place, where the fasions of nobility are so subject to the idiot whims of my disturbed half-brother. My new base of operations shall be Bedlam, the place where it all really started. Driscoll was amenable enough to my request for residency, although he must suspect that I seek more than mere celebrity. Truly, I do not wish to bring him more cause for grieving, but his Shadow is simply best suited to my needs. It is time to leak Merlin some more hints, but that can wait. The first thing which I must do is explain to Emer why her mother so vigorously entertains a certain Shadow female.
