Late in the reign of Queen Emma, the Princess Katrina discovered Dworkin's old studio, and therein found a great many Trump cards. One of those cards depicted what she thought to be the Jewel of Judgement. When Katrina became infected with the Abyss, she thought to use the stone to cure herself, having heard that the Jewel could cleanse her of the taint. In fact, the card depicted another Jewel...which she eventually came to believe was a Shadow of the Jewel of Judgement. She named it the Heartstone, for its shape and size and for the strange heartbeat she heard emanate from it occasionally.
In fact, the artifact which Katrina had discovered was much more sinister than she suspected, for it was the other eye of the Serpent, who was now destroyed. She had recovered the Eye of Chaos, one of the last remnants of the power of the old Logrus...and in retrieving it from its prison, had set the stage for another conflict between the Greater Powers.

Initiate of the Eye (15)
Shadow Manipulation (5) - This power enables the bearer of the Eye of Chaos to manipulate Shadow, whether changing its contents or time flow, or even changing the destiny of the Shadow. Essentially, Shadow Manipulation enables the bearer of the Eye of Chaos to make use of any 'Shadow' qualities described in Amber DRPG.
Serpent Sight (5) - Serpent Sight is similar to the Pattern Lens, save that it actually creates a projection which could be discerned by someone psychically sensitive. In other words, it is possible to note that one is being spied upon. The power of the Eye of Chaos is too strong to go unnoticed, and is often perceived as a red eye or as a metaphysical gap, out of which flows a ruby light. Serpent Sight does not allow the bearer to explore unknown areas; it can only proceed to known places or people.
Gate Generation (5) - Gate Generation allows the bearer of the Eye of Chaos to create a magical gate that leads to another Shadow. The gate remains open for just under one minute, however, so it is possible that an enemy could follow the bearer of the Eye through the gate. Basically, the Eye enables its wielder to create Trump Gates.
Jewel Link (0) - Attuning oneself to the Eye of Chaos makes one aware of others who have also attuned to the Eye, and to a lesser extent, aware of those who have attuned to the Jewel of Judgement and the Jewel's presence.
Wielder of the Eye (10) - Relatively self-explanatory. Cast through the Eye enables the wielder to cast spells through the projection that is created using Serpent Sight. Note that if the wielder also has the Sorcery power Utilize Jewel Energy in Spellcasting, s/he can use the Eye in the same fashion as a Spikard.
Adept of the Eye (15)
Greater Shadow Manipulation (5) - This power enables the bearer of the Eye to manipulate Shadow on an advanced level, such as creating Shadow pockets, or even erasing Shadows, in fashion very similar to the Advanced Logrus abilities.
Catalyze (5) - This power enables an individual possessing the Eye to infuse an object, creature, or place with Logrus energy, which can have strange effects. By imbuing an object with this energy, the Eye can force the subject to change or evolve.
Create/Manipulate Shadow Path (5) - This power enables the bearer of the Eye to create or destroy permanent connections between Shadows. With this ability, the bearer can essentially enable ordinary people to move from Shadow to Shadow following established 'paths.'
Master of the Eye (15) - The exact nature of the exalted powers of the Eye of Chaos is at present unknown.
