Session Thirty-one
"That's OK, Andrew, your campaign is sexy enough."

Sean unblobs and sees Caine and Farad standing outside of his
holding tank. They let him out to wash and dress, which he does, when
Caine walks over to touch him. Sean is not comfortable with this, but
agrees to it when Caine says it's just to check on the shapeshifting
protocol he initiated in Sean's body. Caine then goes to check on Paris,
who doesn't seem willing to let go of his extra mass. Argument and
anti-depressants ensue.

Edward sneaks away from his room that night in Chaos and meets up
with Sebastian and Rebecca -- you remember Rebecca, Gabriel's daughter?
The girl who is the same age as Rasa? Yeah... They discuss the
Artifacts. There are left untaken a cloak, a staff, a key, and a thing
that randomly changes shape.

Lilith is doing paperwork when a cloaked figure enters the room
and prevents her from leaving, in totally threatening but, as yet, not
really dangerous ways. When the figure reveals it is Alastair, she
informs him of his death. He doesn't seem too surprised. He tells her he
has one of the Artifacts. He also tells her that Caine is trying to walk
the Pattern to attune himself to the Jewel, but thus far, Fiona has
blocked him. So, Caine is trying to obtain one of the Artifacts, and take
her out with it. Alastair tells Lilith that she ought to be at the Tir
tomorrow night if she wants to prevent bad things from happening. He
fades away, and Lilith seems miffed that Greyswandir was useless against
him.

Sean notices that Werewindle is gone, and goes through the usual
Pattern and Trump rigmarole of reacquiring lost objects. This fails,
since Rasa is holding on to it. Reality bites, eh?

Edward and company come upon a Death Star-thing in the Abyss.
Edward is asked to take out the guards, which he does; Sebastian's ability
to sense the items seems impaired here. He does notice some Trumpy stuff,
as does Edward. Edward advances towards it, and gets attacked by a
panther creature, which Edward kills. Rebecca, Edward and Sebastian
assemble around the Trumpy thing, which is a key, and decide that this is
an artifact -- and since troops are coming, maybe they can flee now. They
do. Edward gets to keep the key.

Caine requires that Farad, Paris and Sean go to the Abyss to
retrieve one of the artifacts -- either a Trumpy key or a shape-changing
blob. This is very important to him. Of course, not important enough for
him to go along... until they critically fail, that is. Of course, we're
not to that point yet. Farad begins a transportation spell, and they go.

	Lilith talks to herself.

Merlin, in Chaos the next morning, announces to Gabriel, Dmitri,
Edward and Rasa that there was a break-in at the archaeological site.
They go immediately to the site, and arrive simultaneously with Paris,
Sean and Farad.

Chaotic events occur. Paris, Sean and Farad try to prevent
Gabriel, Dmitri, Edward and Rasa from following them into the site, but
they all end up in the room with the shapeshifting object at nearly the
same time, except Farad, who was turned to stone by Merlin. Paris and
Sean arrive slightly sooner thanks to the brick wall Farad put in the way;
Paris touches the object, and disappears. Sean hides in the shadows. The
only one who doesn't notice him when they come in is Rasa. Sean comes out
of the shadows. They look at the object, as tensions flare; Edward
touches the object and disappears as well. Since he finds himself in
Arden, he goes to report to the Regent.

Caine and Farad come in. Rasa leaps immediately at Caine, but
Farad knocks her cold with a spell. Caine tells them to leave, but only
Sean does so. Gabriel checks Rasa and draws his sword. As he begins to
advance towards Caine, a hole opens in the floor beneath Gabriel, and he
has fun in the Abyss, trying to fight the air currents and get back to the
Death Star archaeological site. Dmitri then attacks Caine, while Merlin
duels Farad in sorcerous combat.

Rasa wakes up and grows a tentacle, and almost touches Caine with
it before he Trumps her into the Abyss. She Trumps Gabriel and goes
through to him, and she shifts into a dragon and flies him up. Once
there, Rasa attempts to get close enough to Farad to make psychic contact
with him, on the grounds that Farasa has her own agenda, and it is not
Farad's or Caine's. Farad panics, but manages to push her, via magic,
back into the shapeshifting object; she disappears. Meanwhile, Dmitri has
been disposed of, somehow -- probably got knocked into that object or
Trumped away; Gabriel engages Caine. Farad turns Merlin to stone.
Gabriel and Caine fight, and something happens, and the whole place blows
up in a flash of white light.

Rasa has ended up on a spaceship in Shadow; as a dragon, and
rather large and indestructible, she bursts the hull. She shifts to human
and tries to figure out how to get out, but a transporter beam takes her
to the brig. This gives her time to think, so she Trumps to Suhuyways,
and from there tries to reach Gabriel. She does not get through. She
tries Dmitri, and gets him, and goes through. They head to Amber.

Sean, who had returned to Amber, attempts to walk the Pattern, and
gets frozen on it by Fiona's spell. He had argued with Lilith that
walking the Pattern should cure any lingering vestiges of insanity from
hanging out with Paris. Paris arrives in the Pattern Room after resting
in the castle to see a frozen Sean, and Lilith standing there. Paris
wants to walk the Pattern also. Sean gets unfrozen.

Dmitri and Rasa head to Amber, and Trump Lilith while she's
arguing with Paris about walking the Pattern. Paris blocks the call, and
Trumps Dmitri and Rasa further out into Shadow. Rasa tries Sean's Trump,
and he brings them through -- Rasa to the Pattern Room, and Dmitri to the
moat. Rasa advocates Sean walking the Pattern.

Dmitri comes downstairs and shoots Sean with a crossbow. Rasa is
a little irritated, and Trumps Sean away and takes him to his room to
patch him up. Dmitri, foiled only for a moment, begins stalking Sean,
until Sean Trumps him to the edge of the Pattern, where Dmitri is frozen
by the spell there.

Sean plays with Trump at Rasa's behest to try to reach Gabriel.
He has little luck, but figures out that Gabriel is still in the Abyss.
Lilith gets Dmitri unfrozen, and they and Edward find Rasa and Sean, and
settle down to the business of trying to find Gabriel. After discarding
several ideas, they try Rasa's relay Trump from Sean, and go to the edge
of the Abyss. Rasa immediately begins flying in the direction Sean
points; Lilith Pattern teleports the rest. Lilith gets there faster.

The Trump contact leads only to Gabriel's sword. They investigate
the sword muchly; psychic contact and Trump have no effect. Dmitri Trumps
Rasa and brings her through. Various things are done to try and figure
out if Gabriel is in the sword, and how to free him. They decide to
return to Amber, via the shapeshifting object short-cut. Sean ends up in
a completely pink Shadow. Rasa ends up in Lin Daggoth. Edward ends up
somewhere I didn't write down. Lilith and Dmitri go together and end up
in the water near Cabra.

Edward begins to play with his key some more. He has figured out
that "unlocking" a Trump gets a clear, read-only picture of the person.
He locates Benedict in Avalon, Caine in Shadow, Gerard in a dark place,
and Corwin's skull in his tomb. When he tries Oberon, Oberon's hand
reaches through the Trump and takes the key.

Rasa walks the Pattern with Gabriel's sword, and attempts her very
small arsenal of Pattern tricks to remove Gabriel from the sword. Then
she takes the sword to bed with her, and pouts over the intensely sucky
irony of the situation.

At the end of the session:

Rasa, Edward, Lilith, Dmitri, Sean and Paris are in Amber.
Gabriel is in his sword (we think) in Rasa's bed, in Amber.
