Session Twenty-one
"Does anybody want to take the log and be really lucky tonight?"

Fiona summoned all the PCs, along with Gerard and Llewella, to
meet in the library. Gabriel was there, much to his surprise, as he had
left Amber on a secret mission only a few days before. When everyone was
present, Fi turned to Sean and said, "Take us to the Primal Pattern!" He
did.

At the Primal Pattern, our intrepid band found the dead body of
their long lost cousin, Titus. He was lying by the side of the Pattern,
killed by a sword stroke, and had a Trump in his hand that nobody claimed
to recognize. There was another Trump on the Pattern, which Fiona
retrieved. It was of Sean, and it was toast. Fiona also found that a
spot of blood had damaged the Pattern.

The guards were gone, and Wixer 2 lay dead nearby. Eventually, a
working theory developed that Titus was killed as he tried to stop someone
from walking the Pattern. No good explanation for the particular Trump
subjects was found, although Sean got pissed when a few people insinuated
that he might be responsible.

The family returned to the library via Sean's power (Fiona must
have been still a bit peaked after her last attempt to conquer the
universe), and Sean and Colin went off to plot a trap for the Evil
Shapeshifter (TM). Gabriel and Lilith were somewhat involved in this as
well. Alastair said, "Hey, Lilith, I'll tell you who has the Jewel, if
you let me attune myself when we get it back." Lilith refused, and much
bickering ensued.

Alastair and Duncan left, and were followed by Fiona. Lilith and
Gabriel went off together to attend to various administrative duties, and
Colin and Sean finished their arcane collusion.

At this point, Farad was attacked via his Trump. Alastair
attempted to help him, but was put to sleep (probably by Farad's own
defenses).

Alastair woke up, and noticed that everyone in the room appeared
to be a shapeshifter. Sean used his powers, and declared that Trump was
fucked in the vicinity of this library. They both attempted to
investigate, but got nowhere. Alastair mind-probed a guard as an
experiment, and inadvertently killed him.

The only conclusion that anyone came up with was that the event
was some sort of feedback from the destruction of Colin and Sean's spell,
which Farad had destroyed just for the Hell of it.

The party in the library started to break up. Farad went off to
conjure up ferocious balloon animals, Colin did secret stuff, and Sean,
Duncan and Alastair went off to forcefully ask Random for the Jewel back.

After much scanning and teleporting, the soon-to-be cabal reached
a mysterious valley. A magic platform levitated our group to Random's
stronghold, which featured his very own funky Pattern-Logrus construct.
Alastair/Sean/Duncan attempted to reason with Random for the Jewel's
return, and when this failed, they attempted to beat the crap out of him.
Random easily parried the attacks and deposited his 'visitors' outside of
his borders.

At this point, Alastair proposed that the three of them form a
"group dedicated to looking out for each other's mutual interests," and it
was (mostly) agreed upon.

While all this was happening, Farad was approached by the Evil
Shapeshifter. E.S. tried to convince our prankster to join him, but
achieved little success. Our villain (thought by some to be Caine) then
gave Farad a medallion that would supposedly force Colin to fall in love
with Lilith. Farad agreed to pass this trinket along, and then attacked
E.S. He failed.

Benedict Trumped Gabriel, and the two of them went off into Shadow
to talk privately. "Alastair is evil and in league with the E.S.," said
Benedict. "OK, I'll beat the shit out of him," said Gabriel. They also
talked a bit about Gabriel's sword.

Coming upon Farad in the infirmary, Alastair took the opportunity
to mind-ream him. Much fun was had by all.

Suddenly, Colin took over the world. Don't ask me why this is in
the log, but you might ask Dann...

Meanwhile, the cabal was plotting. "Let's get rid of Lilith,"
said Sean. "OK!" chorused Duncan and Alastair. Sean used his Trump
powers to whisk Lilith out from Gabriel's nose and deposit her at Random's
doorstep.

The cabal returned to Amber and split up. Alastair soon wandered
into a peeved Gabriel, who accused him of kidnapping Lilith. Alastair
professed innocence, and was backed up by the other two members of the
mutual-interest group. A few fake attempts were made to rescue the
Regent, and our session ended with the family squabbling in Lilith's
office.

Where was Rasadriel this whole time? No one knows...
