Session Seventeen
		   "Can I borrow your Trump of Oberon?"

	Alastair and Bonaparte are talking over Trump about Alastair
joining Bonaparte's side.  Alastair is still on Rasa-the-dragon's back
with Colin, and Alastair hangs up and asks Colin for leeway to maneuver
with Bonaparte.  Where Bonaparte is, he interposes Duncan between himself
and Farad, as Farad is making threatening motions towards Bonaparte with
not only a cross-bow, but also bunny spells.  Duncan takes a Trump contact
from Alastair, who goes through and turns his gizmo into a shield.

	Gabriel is in the Abyss for two days, and approaches a glowing
object, which I think turns out to be a statue of a horse and rider, but
maybe he had that before.  Gabriel reaches an oasis, where he finds a map
and rests.

	Colin finds Bonaparte with Pattern lens in the castle, and
prepares some nasty spells.  However, he has promised not to mess with
Bonaparte if Alastair is too close.  Farad shoots Bonaparte when Duncan
steps out of the way.  Bonaparte and Duncan both draw swords and attack
Farad, who repels them.  Alastair realizes that Farad is not Farad, but is
one of those dang shapeshifters.  This fact becomes abundantly clear when
Bonaparte slices at Farad's leg and "Farad" sprays poisoned darts from his
arm into Bonaparte's face.  Hm.  That wasn't very Farad-like.  Colin sees
two Farads, one in the room and one in the hall, and debates throwing
spells, while "Farad" throws Duncan around.  Colin spells spikes into
Bonaparte's hand that is holding Greyswandir, since he thinks Greyswandir
is blocking his chance to do really evil spell-casting at Bonaparte. 
Farad and Bonaparte tussle, and the spikes from Colin go into "Farad." 
That's when the real Farad comes into the room.  Bonaparte tries to kill
the fake Farad, who reaches for a spell device in his pocket and teleports
out.  Colin tries teleporting Greyswandir away, but removes Alastair's pet
device instead.  Oops.

	Lilith notices that the castle is destroyed, and that there are
tons of bunnies around.

	Colin teleports to outside the room and throws a spell.  Farad
throws a lynchpin and not only disrupts Colin's spell, but covers Colin in
manure.  Colin is displeased, and Trumps Lilith to share the joy.  Colin
goes through to her, with Duncan grabbing onto his legs.  (I bet that
smelled good.) Lilith process snuffs Duncan (timely, that), and she falls
asleep.  Oops.  Duncan has a burning sensation around his neck, and
reaches up to rip off the amulet he finds there, 'cause that really HURTS. 
Colin proceeds to process snuff Duncan, and it works this time.  Then
Colin mindrapes Duncan, such that Duncan believes Colin is Great.  Colin
wakes up Lilith and continues to mess with Duncan's mind.

	After two more days in the Abyss, Gabriel reaches shore. 
Benedict's Trump is cold, but there's no answer.  The statue is real heavy
when there's gravity to affect its mass.

	Farad asks what the heck is going on.  Alastair asks him to make
everyone in Guilder sane again.

	Rasa figures her latest commission from the Regents is complete,
since Colin Trumped out, and she goes out into Shadow, shapeshifting along
the way, seeking Gabriel.

	Duncan wakes up and Trumps Bonaparte.  Duncan lies through his
teeth about still being loyal to Bonaparte.  Farad is sitting on the
throne at Bonaparte's invitation.  Bonaparte tells Duncan to Trump Colin,
which he does, but Colin blocks the contact.  Farad turns Duncan into a
lizard for shits and giggles.  Bonaparte pushes Duncan Lizard through a
Trump contact to the Tiger People Shadow.  Duncan and his reptile brain
shift Shadow towards Amber.

	Colin gets cleaned up and hangs spells.

	Alastair Trumps Mysterious Benefactor, and they have Mysterious
Conversation.  Then, Alastair Trumps Rasa and goes through to talk to her
about finding Gabriel.  They Trump Mysterious Benefactor again, who takes
them near Gabriel and leaves.  They Trump Gabriel and fill him in on the
goings on in Amber.  They head for the Black Road, as everything else,
including MB, is out of range.

	Bonaparte and *his* Mysterious Benefactor chat.  Bonaparte orders
the destruction of the castle.

	Lilith is Trumped by Gabriel from the Abyss.  This rouses all
sorts of suspicions, since *no one* can Trump from the Abyss.  Then
Alastair (psst, it's not the real Alastair, just like the Trump from
Gabriel wasn't the real Gabriel) Trumps Colin from the castle and tells
him that Farad is on a rampage, turned Duncan into a lizard, and is
threatening to turn people into marshmallows.

	Colin Trumps Duncan, brings him through, turns him back to a
normal, and gives him clothes.  Duncan tells Lilith and Colin that Farad
is mad.  Whether that means angry or insane is not important.

	Bonaparte tries to have Farad shot, but Farad does indeed turn the
guards into marshmallows.  Bonaparte tries to Trump him and kill him
through the Trump contact, but Farad throws Bonaparte back and covers him
in flowers.

	Farad tells Lilith what he did.  She forgives him.  Colin makes a
Pattern barrier, and mindrapes Bonaparte through a Trump contact, with the
help of the Jewel.  After this, Colin notices Brand standing near.  Colin
orders Duncan to protect him.  Brand shapeshifts into Oberon and tries to
get the Jewel.  Lilith decides this is not Oberon, and fights him.  Lilith
is being crushed, so Duncan hits Oberon with a big club.  Oberon takes the
Jewel.

	Alastair and Rasa and Gabriel eventually make it homeward enough
to Trump to Rebma.  Lilith, Colin and Duncan Trump Rasa and go through to
Rebma.

	Bonaparte and the MB talk again.

	Rebma: all talk.  Benedict's aide gives scrolls of information to
Gabriel.  Gabriel suggests a return to Amber, which everyone agrees to. 
Lilith sends Rasa to check the dungeons once there.  Rasa finds Gerard,
and passes him through to the infirmary, and then makes herself S'mores
from all the marshmallows.

	Colin seeks Farad in the Pattern Room, where Farad is
redecorating, and blocking off access to the Pattern.  Farad tries to
teleport Colin out, but the spell bounces, and Farad disappears.  This
happens several more times, 'til Lilith calls an end to it.

	Farad walks the Pattern, Alastair notices and tells everyone. 
Alastair investigates Duncan's mind, and frees all of it from the
influences of a number of people.  Alastair does a good job.  Alastair
Trumps Oberon.  He does not do a good job, since the Trump bursts into
flames.  Alastair tells everyone that Farad is gathering power in some
ritual involving the Golden Circle.  Colin brings up Pattern lens to
investigate and notices that Florin and Guilder are gone.

	Bonaparte flees on a boat.

	Gabriel is Trumped by Benedict, and is assigned a time and place
to go to receive his replacement troops.  Gabriel Trumps Rasa and asks her
to accompany him into Shadow, because he doesn't want to go alone and he
trusts her.  Gabriel Trumps Bonaparte with Rasa's help, and Gabriel asks
about who sent the shapeshifters.  Then Gabriel goes through (Rasa in
tow), to duel with Bonaparte.  They give Rasa their swords to hold, find
other swords and fight to the death -- Bonaparte's death.  During the
fight, Rasa passes Greyswandir through to Lilith, and then continues
watching the fight.  Gabriel kills Bonaparte.  He and Rasa take the body
back to Lilith.

	At the end of the session:

	Gabriel is in his room alone.
	Alastair, Rasa, Lilith and Duncan are in Amber.
	Colin is constructing gunpowder.
	Bonaparte is dead.
