		The Shadow-Hating Assassin Becomes Regent

Alastair notices a person on the Primal Pattern who is wearing a
cloak. The person, not the Pattern. Alastair throws stuff at him, and it
bounces off some sort of force wall. The person is shapeshifting on the
Pattern. Alastair follows the mystery Amberite onto the Pattern, and when
he reaches the center (which is empty) he teleports to the main hall, and
goes to seek Lilith.

	Duncan Trumps Lilith and tells her that Bonaparte captured him;
Duncan then relates the fact that there is a traitor in the palace, and
that Bonaparte intends to take over Amber (DUH). Alastair walks in and
immediately senses what is different about Lilith.

Rasa interrogates a cloak. Or something. She sees how they burn
(answer: soaked in gasoline), and is satisfied that they don't live
through that. She takes some guards and rounds up about half of the
hundred or so cloaks in the castle, and puts the cloaks in the room.
Setting them on fire elicits a high-pitched keening noise, to which all
the other cloaks flock; so, Rasa and her guards subdue and burn these
cloaks as well. It was a bad day to be a cloak. The guards look at Rasa
funny for some reason known only to the GM, but I wrote it down anyway.

Colin is directed to two scientists by Suhuy (Bunsen and Beaker,
we kid you not. Suhuy=Jim Henson?). Theories are made about little
shapeshifting nanites.

Duncan tells Lilith that Bonaparte's men aren't strong enough to
defeat Amber yet, but they could be soon; but also that Gabriel is a
better general than Bonaparte, so they'll still be OK (DUH). Duncan then
goes to tell Gabriel his concerns as well.

Alastair gives orders to put guards on the Primal Pattern. He
probably asks Gabriel's permission too, but my notes aren't clear. Let's
just say, he should have. He also Trumps Paris. He doesn't get through
that time.

Bonaparte sends a message to Amber to have Gabriel meet Bonaparte
on the edge of Shadow, for big-general-type negotiations. Gabriel
receives this message and talks to Gerard about the safety of the Regent.
Then Gabriel seeks Rasa and asks Rasa to try and shapeshift into a Gabriel
mock-up, to fool people -- after all, it might be helpful if it is thought
that Gabriel is guarding Lilith, even when he's not.

Bonaparte receives a message from Lilith asking him to come to
Amber to talk about giving up and having amnesty and stuff like that.

Farad beta tests a spell. It works.

Duncan reports to the fake Gabriel (psst, it's Rasa) about the
traitor, while Gabriel Trumps Bonaparte, who is busy having his troops
decimated by Farad's spell (please see above paragraph for details).
Bonaparte's troops are all mad, as are most of the people in the Shadow.
Bonaparte complains to Gabriel that this is probably forbidden under the
Geneva convention -- killing civilians with spells for madness? Yeah. It
probably is.

Gabriel Trumps Lilith and asks for copies of the treaty that Amber
has with the Golden Circle kingdom that Farad decimated, but that
Bonaparte invaded. The arguing is pointless, and unfortunately does not
lead to immediate bloodshed. But I repeat myself.

Lilith plays with her Jewel and turns off gunpowder. She also
notices her guard is not as he once was, and asks the Gabriel clone who he
is. Rasa gains psychic contact with Lilith and reveals all. She figures
this is less of a security breech than having Lilith scream "It's the
traitor," or something along those lines. That's about when Lilith also
notices the false Greyswandir, and thinks the real one was stolen by the
false Alastair from one session ago. Knowing enough to keep the Jewel
away from her when it's not necessary, she does this thing. She also
Trumps Gabriel, and he touches the false Greyswandir to his sword, and the
illusion on Greyswandir falls away. Gabriel informs Lilith that he and
Bonaparte are going to fight tomorrow on a neutral plane.

	At dinner:
Colin gets to hold the Jewel (he returned from Chaos, BTW).
Everyone -- including Bonaparte, who interpreted Lilith's message
as an invitation to dinner -- is at dinner except Gabriel, who tries to
Trump Farad about making that whole Shadow insane and blowing Amber's
protection treaty with that Golden Circle country. Farad just blocks,
though. Farad and Rasa talk. Bonaparte argues pointlessly with Lilith,
this time.
Gabriel comes in and places Farad under arrest. Farad teleports
out.

Alastair walks the Amber Pattern and Rebma Pattern in quick
succession, then rests, and then has Paris get him to Tir-na Nog'th where
he walks the Pattern there. He rests in the center, 'til he can make it
to the Primal Pattern -- where he gets stuck on the third veil. Big
shocker there. However, he does unstick, and teleports into Shadow.

Duncan goes to speak to Lilith.

Rebecca Trumps Gabriel and tells him that she needs his help. He
goes through to her.

Duncan attacks Lilith, knocks her out and Trumps Bonaparte.
Fortunately, Lilith isn't wearing the Jewel of Judgment, as Duncan just
revealed himself to be the traitor.

Gerard wakes Colin up to tell him that Amber is under attack.
Farad arrives there for some reason.

Rasa, seeking Gabriel, finds his room is empty and that he's not
receiving Trump. She finds the same thing when she goes to tell Lilith
this. She then seeks Colin.

Gabriel finds himself in the Abyss, fighting creatures and
standing on a floating rock, trying to protect his daughter.

Lilith wakes up and tries to talk Duncan down. When this fails,
she pretends to go to the bathroom, and teleports out.

Bonaparte Trumps Colin, and they chat about how Colin doesn't
really want to let Bonaparte be the king of Amber. I like that Colin.
Good head on his shoulders. In the meantime, cloaks cover the outside of
Castle Amber. Colin conjures a gasoline mist and lights them on fire,
reducing 10,000 cloaks to 3,000 and strategically setting the castle on
fire. Alastair walks by, and Colin inducts him into the army.

Duncan finds Lilith gone. Alastair then Trumps him, and mindrapes
him and learns how Bonaparte managed to turn Duncan traitor. Alastair
breaks whatever magic did that.

In the headquarters for the battle: Farad begins work on a spell.
Rasa volunteers to go kill mages and the like in demon form, which is a
good tactic. Farad's spell goes off, and ten million bunnies invade
Amber. This is not a good tactic. The invasion proceeds on apace; as
they are about to be over-run, Lilith Trumps Colin, and asks to come
through from the battlefield, where she is. Since that's probably a safer
place, she doesn't come through.

Paris refuses to help Alastair; Colin incapacitates Duncan; and
Alastair, Colin and Rasa Trump out to Rebma before they are killed, or
worse. From there, it just gets silly. Colin asks Rasa to shapeshift
into a flying dragon form so he can fly on her back and they can rain
fiery death from the heavens. Of course she agrees. Lava and the like is
rained down. Havoc is wreaked. The castle is toast.

	Alastair is shooting stuff at whoever is walking the Pattern;
Random teleports in next to Alastair and stabs him. Colin Trumps
Alastair, onto Rasa-lizard back, where it's safe. Yah, right.

Bonaparte breaks into the Pattern room and finds Caine there, who
flees him. Bonaparte makes his way to the throne, sits on it and smiles.

Colin seals the Pattern Room entrance with lava.

Gabriel defeats the abyssal attackers, and then is attacked by
Rebecca, as they leap from floating rock to floating rock. It's all very
surreal, and she even shoots poisoned darts, which he can block, of
course. Since she's flying after him, he cuts off a wing; since she
attacked him, he cuts off her head. His sword is pulsating. He can't
Trump anyone.

At the end of the session:

Colin is Pattern lensing to find Bonaparte to put lava on his
head, or something, while in midair.
Rasa has Alastair and Colin both on her back, but since she's a
flying dragon, it's OK.
	Alastair is on Rasa's back.
Duncan is drooling in the castle.
	Gabriel is in the Abyss.
Lilith is working her way across the battlefield.
Farad is around. (shrug -- after the bunny triumph, I think he left.)
	Bonaparte is on the throne.
