Session Thirteen
"I actually slept on the throne last night."

FARASA! the Great retrieves Farad's body and places it in cold
storage.

Gabriel and Rebecca, heading to Amber, meet up with Bonaparte, who
is a prisoner separated from his sword, whatever that means. Now I know
why I usually write these soon after taking the notes; notes get
infinitely more cryptic the longer you are away from them.

Lilith learns that Farad's body has disappeared. Colin leaves to
talk to Fiona. Gabriel then Trumps Lilith and tells her that he's found a
son of Caine, and could she find him some quarters? Like that's the
Regent's job or something. Sheesh. Get a Trump of the castle steward or
do it yourself...

Tir-na Nog'th appears in the night sky. Lilith senses the Jewel
is there and heads up. Duncan and Paris follow. FARASA! decides to Trump
Lilith at this moment, and they do so in Rasa-style (annoyingly). Lilith
Trumps Duncan to bring Duncan and Paris up to her, so Paris can ID the
annoying person Trumping her. It is Rasa, of course. Since there are
clouds rolling in, Lilith decides to deal with the headache and keep
looking for the Jewel. Foolish mortal, trying to resist the combined
power of FARASA!!

Alastair sees Lilith, Duncan and Paris heading towards him. He
is, once more, stuck on the Pattern, near the Third Veil. This log notes
that FARASA! never got stuck on the Pattern. FARASA!, deciding not to
punish the weakling mind of the Regent too much, heads to the castle
ramparts, having been told that's where Lilith is. They see Tir-na Nog'th
in the distance, and decide to go there and seek out new life and new
civilizations. They find their cousins instead.

Duncan et al. consider how to help Alastair, who needs something
to counteract the big energy suck he's stumbled on to. Small, demure
Rasa, arriving near Lilith's elbow, says she can help (of course, it's a
ploy of FARASA!'s to make everyone believe it's just Rasa alone in her
body). Lilith is suspicious. One has to give her credit. Lilith follows
Rasa out onto the Pattern. FARASA! finds that the trap on the Pattern,
while very subtle, is no match for their incredible powers; they channel
energy away from Alastair, pick him up, and neutralize the trap enough for
Lilith, Rasa and Alastair to get through. FARASA! hopes that Lilith will
be grateful enough for their assistance through the Pattern to leave them
alone, but, of course, she's not.

Tir-na Nog'th begins to disappear around them, and the group
variously teleports or Trumps away. Lilith has Trumped to the Main Hall
with FARASA! and Alastair's (once- more) unconscious body, as well as
Paris and Duncan. They meet Gabriel and Bonaparte, and make general
niceties, whilst FARASA! carries Alastair upstairs to the infirmary, where
they proceed to rifle his pockets and take his cool stuff, like the Rebman
Jewel of Judgment and his Trumps. They only look at the Trumps, and give
them back, but they cram the Jewel down their cleavage. Of course, their
fifteen-year-old cleavage, while pretty good for fifteen years, isn't real
good for holding stuff, so they shapeshift more as necessary.

Paris, Duncan, Gabriel, Lilith and Bonaparte all talk to each
other. Paris admits that he's not a very good shapeshifter. I guess it's
true confessions time, but no one else seems to be playing. Bonaparte
asks who killed his pop. They are quick to assure him that it was Farad
-- not them. Lilith grows nervous as to what Rasa is doing with Alastair,
and goes to confront her. Lilith, of course, notices the Jewel in Rasa's
cleavage (not because of a lack of cleavage, mind you, it's just that
Lilith can sense these things). Lilith asks for the Jewel (not that it's
hers). FARASA! refuses to relinquish the item, and heads out the door.
Duncan is standing there, though. FARASA! summons Shadow wolves to do
something -- I dunno -- chew Duncan's fingers off, or something --, and
departs amidst the confusion. Duncan and Lilith dispatch the wolves, and
cast spells after FARASA!, who merely shrugs them off, and casts a few of
their own.

Unfortunately, Gabriel is blocking the path down the stairs, and
FARASA! is out of wolf spells. Damn. FARASA! decides it is time once
again to hide behind the mask of Rasa, especially when Bonaparte mentions
that he wants to kill Farad, and barring that, torture him a lot. Lilith
accuses Rasa of having the Rebman Jewel (like Lilith having it would be
OK, or something). Lilith also accuses Rasa of having a Farad in her
head. Gabriel questions Rasa directly as to the truth of these
accusations. FARASA! deems it best to give the Jewel up to Gabriel, but
keep lying about the fact that Farad is still there, what with Bonaparte
looming over them with a sword and a murderous glint in the eye. Gabriel
believes Rasa, and takes the Rebman Jewel to Rebma. Rasa assures everyone
that Farad did not kill Caine, because that is, after all the truth.

Bonaparte insults Rasa with equestrian stories. Chaosites sure
are weird. Rasa fakes being alone in her body, and pretends that she
learned things from Farad's extended stay, which is over, oh, yes, it is.
Lilith remains suspicious, but expects Rasa to tell her the truth when
there's a guy standing there waiting to kill her? Even if FARASA! could
be guilted into telling the truth, FARASA! is not that stupid!

Bleys asks for Paris' help in deprogramming his daughter. They
open a Trump contact to FARASA!. Rasa asks for someone to knock them out
(not wanting to take the Trump contact), which Bonaparte does. The Trump
contact continues to open around them, but before they go through,
Bonaparte cuts off her hair. We told you he was a mean guy. Bonaparte
offers the hair to Lilith as a means to tell if Rasa is occupied by more
than just herself. Lilith shrugs, as does Duncan. They discuss Patterns,
and Bonaparte suggests he walk it, which he does. "His base pieces are
going back together." I assume that means something to somebody. When he
finishes, he teleports to the throne and falls asleep on it.

Alastair removes himself to a fast time Shadow to heal. After a
week there, he feels pretty groovy again. He goes to visit Flora, and
finds that she has a new lover and some nice hardware on her door. She
gets rid of her lover to talk to Alastair. Then he decides to Trump Rasa
or Farad and then Paris, and doesn't get through to any of them.

Paris watches in mild trepidation as Bleys deposits FARASA! in the
middle of a pentagram. Bleys suggests Rasa should help separate herself
from Farad. She refuses. Bleys begins building the second pentagram, and
invokes a fire elemental into it. Paris decides to leave before it gets
ucky. He does feel bad for Rasa, though, and opens up a Trump contact to
her -- the place she's in is so warded, that it takes hours to open the
contact.

Gabriel, in Rebma with Rebecca, tries to Trump first Farad, then
Ganelon. Blocked in both cases. He takes his daughter with him back to
Amber, and since it's night, they go to sleep. Gabriel dreams that he's
getting lessons in warfare techniques from Suhuy and Ganelon. Sneaky. In
the morning, father and daughter breakfast together and discuss Amber.
Gabriel persists in believing he is not of Amber.

Bleys' spells take effect, and Rasa and Farad start separating.
They decide it's best to go with the moment and rejoin later. Paris'
Trump to Rasa goes through in that moment, and Rasa goes through into
Paris' mind. Farad stays behind in Rasa's body. Rasa and Paris tussle
briefly for domination of the mind, but ultimately they make peace, with
Paris still in control. Rasa asks him to retrieve Farad's body, so maybe
she can transfer into it. This fails. They seek Bleys, and lo, they do
find him.

Gabriel, Lilith, Alastair, Bonaparte and Duncan discuss Mara and
Sebastian, FARASA!, Julian... It is revealed that Dara is Sebastian's
mom. (Who the hell is Mara then?)

Rebecca asks Lilith if she can walk the Pattern. Then she does
this thing. She waves to Gabriel at the center of the Pattern and
disappears.

Farad is placed inside the fire elemental, and Rasa is given back
her body. Rasa notices that Farad tried to shapeshift, and wasn't very
good at it. Paris is relieved that he's not sharing living space with
anyone anymore. He leaves. Bleys deposits the fire demon and Farad's
body in a Shadow of water. Bleys tells Rasa to grow up, and to sit there
and think about what she's done. Rasa tries to figure out what she did
that was so wrong. It was Lilith and Colin and Duncan's idea to put Farad
in her head, after all. She takes Bleys at his word, and starts shifting
herself a 20-year-old form for her body.

Paris, upon returning to Amber, explains his latest ordeal to
Alastair, Bonaparte and Duncan. Alastair Trumps Farad (out of range) and
Bleys (blocked). A gang Trumping of Farad brings Farad through. They are
surprised to receive a fire demon and not a body. Paris goes back to
waterworld, and retrieves Farad's body, which is drowned and entwined in
seaweed. Alastair and Farad make contact.

Bonaparte offers to revive Farad with sorcery, if Farad wishes.
Farad does not wish, but that doesn't seem to be important. Squabbling of
little consequence ensues, the upshot of which is that Farad sets
Alastair's hair on fire, and people cut off more body parts of Farad.

Lilith does regenty stuff, like arranging to bury people, who
happen to be Brand and Caine.

Paris sees Dworkin's face in his mind, and is ordered to kill
Lilith and Colin.

Bonaparte gets his way, finally, and the merry crew of Duncan
(carrying Farad's body), Farad (the fire elemental), Bonaparte, Paris and
Alastair go to resurrect Farad. Bonaparte tells Farad to join with his
body; Farad catches himself on fire. The body crisps. Farad tries to
burn up Bonaparte next, but Bonaparte seems to have borrowed the bat suit
from Bruce. The body is a loss, and the ashes are everywhere. Gabriel
shows up, and orders them to stop, then orders them to rectify this
matter. Once again, preparations are made to clone Farad. Paris,
Bonaparte and Gabriel attend the funeral.

Bleys releases Rasa to attend the funerals. Rasa turns back to
fifteen and Trumps Paris to bring her through to Amber.

Alastair Trumps Eric, who is with Flora on his way to Amber to
attend the funerals.

Gabriel is Trumped in the shower to be told that Random, Llewella,
Flora, Eric, and Deirdre are arriving. Gabriel Trumps Lilith to tell her
this stuff. Benedict arrives in Gabriel's quarters. They talk army, and
go to the funerals.

	Caine and Brand's funeral:

Gabriel speaks kindly of Brand. It's deep and meaningful.

Afterwards, Eric challenges Lilith formally to a duel; Lilith
tells him that she wants to see her dad buried first. Apparently she
forgot that Eric didn't respect Corwin when he was alive, so why should he
now that he's dead? Eric swings at her, and Gabriel parries. Gabriel
subdues Eric and sends him away.

This is when we learn that Gabriel and Lilith have been doing
manual labor on the tombs.

Rasa talks to Lilith. They are going to talk to Bonaparte.
Gabriel approaches them to introduce Rasa to Rebecca. Something about
being the same age.

At the end of the game:

Everyone is standing around at the end of a funeral, even Colin,
who arrived with Fiona.
