Session Eleven
	Pop quiz: is your mind a fortress, a townhouse or an efficiency?

	Duncan tells Alastair what he's been up to.  Duncan is on his way
to Amber, Alastair is in his own Shadow.  Duncan has been helping Bleys
fight the Black Road critters.  Alastair tells him the Pattern has been
repaired, that Corwin is dead and Lilith is in charge, that kind of thing. 
Alastair then queries Duncan as to Bleys' plans, and advises him to check
in with Lilith when he arrives in Amber.

	Alastair then turns his attention to Farad, and wakes him up in
order to mentally dominate him.  Farad fails to defend himself.  Alastair
wants to search Farad's memories.

	Duncan comes across a nascent Black Road in his voyage towards Amber.

	Gabriel has received a note from Julian that reads something like
this: "I have your daughter and she will die."  Gabriel goes looking for
Lilith, and since it's 1 a.m., he wakes her up.  Gabriel shows her his
note.

	Sand is in a huddled mass in Amber.  Her mind wakes up with the
Hunchback of Notre Dame stooping over her -- it's Dworkin.  Sand's mind
decides to kneel in front of Dworkin (you know, show a little respect for
the creator of the universe, and everything is swell).  Dworkin promises
to restore Sand to him/herself, for a price.  Dworkin runs his feet on the
carpet of the one-room efficiency that is his/her mind, and gives her a
static shock.  Sand remembers being... Paris, I think.  S/he asks about
the price after the deed has been done.  Dworkin says: "Avenge me!" 
Sand/Paris asks "Are you dead?"  The answer is no, but he is becoming a
ghost every day, thanks to Lilith and Colin redrawing the Pattern.  "Bring
me the Jewel or kill them," is Dworkin's last order, as he heads out of
the claustrophobic room of his/her mind.  He leaves behind his memory of
the use and abuse of Trump, however.  Call it a housewarming gift.  Sand
wakes up on a bed in Amber and asks for whoever is in charge.

	Duncan arrives in Amber, notes the time, and does NOT wake Lilith up.

	Rasa searches Corwin's room and finds all kinds of secret panels. 
A search of Brand's room reveals books on botany and obscure dialects of
Thari.  The royal suite is occupied by Lilith, so Rasa decides not to
search them.  She searches Titus' quarters and finds a Trump deck.  On the
case is a Trump of the unicorn that she animates, and ends up in the Grove
of the Unicorn.  It was the easiest Trump contact she ever made.  She
notes she has a Trump of Farad now, which is cool.

	Farad's mind is open to Alastair.  Alastair learns that not only
is Farad a Pattern sorcerer, but that Farad thinks he is the greatest
sorcerer in the universe (well, DUH), that his personal goals are not
world peace, but to become the most powerful person in the universe, and
that he doesn't know where the Jewel is.  Oh, and he's never been allied
with Chaos.

	Gabriel tells Lilith the note from Julian is some sort of trap,
but he's going to go investigate it anyway.  He says if she doesn't hear
from him, she's to appoint his successor.  A guard comes in to tell them
Sand is awake.  Lilith says they'll be there soon.  Gabriel tells Lilith
that his son and wife were killed in his presence, but that he doesn't
think he has a daughter.
	
	Gabriel goes out and meets Duncan in the hall; they chat about the
sitch in Amber and Eric's return.

	Alastair is "overcome by a wave" -- someone is messing around with
Brand's Pattern.  He breaks contact with Farad, but Farad has felt it
also.  Alastair leaves Farad, and Farad leaves the Shadow, though the
people in the hospital want payment.  He tosses them some credit cards.

	Rasa comes in from the Grove of the Unicorn and comes across what
used to be her Aunt Sand.  Paris tells her Sand was his mother, and when
he took on her form, her personality took over his mind.  He asks her how
Amber is.  Lilith walks in.  Paris tells her about his childhood.  Rasa
asks if he's a spy. Duncan comes to see Sand.  Someone Trumps Lilith. 
Paris sees that it's Fiona, and can also see where it's coming from. 
(Nifty trick, that.) *AND* s/he can hear the conversation they have. 
Fiona warns Lilith that someone is messing with Brand's Pattern.  Lilith
asks Fiona about Paris, but Fiona refers her to Suhuy.

	Alastair is going to Bramber, and arrives, sneakily.

	Rasa refuses to address Paris as anything at all because she
doesn't trust him.  They all try to Trump Farad, who resists.  Paris can
see the resistance and how to over-ride, but doesn't.  *Then* Paris asks
why Farad is to be contacted.  Lilith tells him Farad was captured by
Chaos.  Paris makes a comment about "the family paranoia."  The group then
attempts to Trump Alastair.  Paris forces the contact, but Alastair says
he is busy, please Trump back in ten minutes.
	
	Gabriel heads to Shadow Earth to see Flora.  Flora welcomes him;
they discuss Lilith, the defense of Amber, whether or not Bill Roth has
returned (yup).  Gabriel needs legal help, since Bill's replacement died.

	Lilith and company Trump Alastair again -- did you rescue Farad? 
Why are you in Bramber?  He's on his way to the Pattern stairs.  At this
point, Rasa finds the conversation boring and drops the contact.  The
others maintain it.  Duncan asks if Alastair needs help.  Paris cuts the
contact.

	Glad to be done with the conversation (one presumes), Alastair
heads to the Pattern room and kills some guards with his compressed air
weapon (paint-balling, anyone?).  Mara and five guards come in.  Alastair
throws a dagger to distract her, and it bursts into flames.  Alastair can
see the lines of power radiating out from her (Logrus).  One of them
touches him, and he raises Pattern.  She snuffs the Pattern and lifts him
up.

	Lilith, Paris and Duncan try Trumping Alastair again, but it's
blocked.

	Rasa heads into Shadow towards shapeshifting school, and runs
across Farad arriving in Amber.  They have little to say to each other,
except for "be careful."
	
	Gabriel looks up Bill about Julian being his dad and all that.  He
is looking for a formal way to divorce himself from his dad.  Bill starts
drawing up a contract.

	Mara is surrounded by Logrus, and Alastair can't Trump her or
channel Pattern energy towards her.  Alastair makes contact with Mara's
guards to distract her.  At least she lets go of him with the Logrus.  He
shoots her, and throws the guards he's mentally dominating at her, and
grabs for a Trump at random -- and gets Sand!

	Back in Amber, Paris asks for help in taking a Trump contact;
Lilith obliges, and they pull through the bruised and beaten Alastair, who
is incidentally being chased by a lightning bolt.  His entrance is
applauded.

	Farad goes to his room in Amber and hangs spells.  Then he goes to
see Lilith and her courtiers to discuss his captivity.  Paris discusses
his transformation from Sand with Alastair.  Paris asks what happened in
Bramber.  Alastair mentions that Sebastian has suspended himself over the
Pattern and is drawing energy from it.

	Gabriel and Bill finish with the contract and head to Flora's. 
Eric is also there.  Gabriel remembers that he attacked Eric once (oops). 
Eric queries Gabriel -- "So, you're the one in charge of Amber's defenses. 
How's that going for you?  Like using Oberon's blade?  It's a good 'un. 
Can I sway your loyalties for you?  Would you really defend Lilith to the
death?"  Gabriel remembers he is sworn to protect Lilith.  Eric stands
down when Flora brings up the divorce papers.  She suggests it should be
witnessed by Lilith and sealed with the royal seal.

	Amongst the Court of Regent Lilith, the sitch in Bramber is
discussed.  Farad asks where the Jewel is, and asks who was present when
it went missing, then asks who all was attuned (Colin is conveniently
asleep, it being barely dawn and all).  The assembled court hangers-on
suggest Paris walk the Pattern.  Lilith leaves the room, but Paris sees
that she is Trumping Deirdre, who is near Rebma, and that she can't get
through; sees her Trumping Bleys, who is in a Trump-blocked Shadow; and
sees her Trumping Random, who is in Rebma.  Lilith gets contacted by
Gabriel (who has Bill Roth with him) and asks to come through.  Since he
has his horse with him, she goes to the stables and brings Gabriel and his
horse through.

	The others go to the Pattern room.  Farad walks the Pattern. 
Others make plans for taking Bramber.  Paris tries to Trump Rasa, but
she's too far.  Duncan seeks Lilith.

	Gabriel assures Lilith that he is her (and Amber's) faithful
defender.  She explains how Eric let Corwin die.  She asks about the
document, which "renounces all rights as Julian's son."

	Paris enlists Alastair's aid in Trumping Rasa.  Alastair notices
Paris is really good with Trump, and has a boost in the form of psyche or
a trick.  When Rasa is reached, she tells them she won't help with the
attack on Bramber because she is too young and defenseless.

	Farad goes to Bramber, engages battle with Mara, and loses.  His
spells fizzle in the face of her Logrus and stuff.

	Lilith listens to reports on the situations, and figures Mara and
Sebastian are drawing on Pattern to defeat their attackers.  Then she,
Gabriel and Duncan go to Gerard's.  They get that document signed, sealed
and delivered.  Gabriel attempts to assess the situation in Bramber using
Alastair's information.

	Paris is Trump spying, and sees what happens to Farad, who has
also given the bad guys the key to using Brand's Pattern.

	Rasa makes it to Suhuy's shapeshifting school, and learns much.

	Gabriel decides to muster troops to bear down on Bramber; he sets
Duncan to this task as well.  He wants a Trump of Duncan.  Paris offers to
draw one, and Lilith has the appropriate tools for Trump artistry sent to
him.  Gabriel gathers the instruments of telling Julian off, which are: a
copy of the divorce papers, a dagger, and a piece of paper saying "SOON,"
which I guess he'll stick in a tree in Arden.  He also calls a bird of his
desire.

	Lilith Trumps Tristan, and contact starts and fades away.  Tristan
notices Paris spying and shakes a finger at him.  Lilith tries to find
Colin, who is busy elsewhere for the day.  She tries the Trump of him, but
there's no answer.  Fiona pledges her sorcerous behind-the-scenes help to
Lilith's attack.  Lilith asks the group at large about the whereabouts of
Ganelon, but Gabriel hasn't seen him.  Gabriel has his Trump, however, and
when he can't get through, Paris notes it is blocked, actively, not just
due to distance.  They all join in the contact, and end up at Ygg, but
there's no Ganelon and no Jewel.  Lilith speaks to Ygg, who moans about
"Strange people."  They try Trumping Ganelon again.  Nothing.  Paris
realizes his tampering with the Trump caused the redirect.  Gabriel tells
the others to go on, as he has his own plans.  Paris and Lilith try to
Trump to Amber from Ygg.  Paris pries the contact open and they go
through.

	Alastair walks the Pattern.  He goes to Shadow Earth, and Flora's
house, specifically.  Flora and Eric answer the door and Alastair asks
where the Jewel is.  Eric says Lilith still has it.  Eric gives Alastair
"a gift, from Flora to Lilith."  Alastair asks where he should look for
the Jewel, and Eric says he'll look.

	Rasa asks Suhuy about the Jewel going missing.  He asks her what
the Jewel is.  She explains to the best of her ability (oops).  Rasa goes
back to her studies and masters the art of turning her skin into armor.

	Gabriel takes the Black Road to Bramber.  Oberon's sword is
super-effective against Chaos-types.  There are 300,000 troops around
Bramber and scads of sorcerers.  He kills some of them, disguises himself
as a sorcerer, and sneaks around.  He goes to the Pattern room and sees:
Mara meditating; Farad floating; Sebastian suspended.  Farad and Sebastian
are in crucifix positions in the air over the Pattern, with lots of
lightning-bolt feedback action.  Gabriel acts sorcerer-ish and leaves for
Amber.

	Duncan musters 20,000 troops for the Bramber invasion.  Gabriel
runs into Duncan on the way to Amber.  They have a total of 50,000 troops. 
Gabriel advises Duncan to move towards Chaos, hopefully drawing Sebastian
away from Bramber.  A small strike force is going to be necessary for the
task.

	Paris and Lilith cannot reach Rasa via Trump.  Paris tries drawing
a Trump sketch of an object -- in this case, a pen.  Lilith debates with
herself how to find the Jewel; goes to the Primal Pattern, seeking it. 
She notices Wixer II: Electric Boogaloo is there.
	
	At the end of the session:

	Rasa is in Chaos, practicing shapeshifting.
	Paris is trying to do Trump of objects, in Amber.
	Duncan is leading an army towards Chaos.
	Gabriel just finished talking to Duncan.
	Lilith is seeking the Jewel of Judgment at the Primal Pattern.
	Colin is missing.
	Alastair is in Shadow Earth with his pop.
	Farad is suspended over the Bramber Pattern.  He is mindless and
happy (but aren't we all?)
