A sea horse

Session 1

Met my sister today, although she doesn't know I'm her sister, yet. I wanted to see how she treated me without the existence of a family bond. I also wanted to figure out how she felt about Dad. After talking to her, I've come to two conclusions. One, she seems OK, at least so far. No sign yet of whether she's as crazy as the rumors would have it. The other is that she's had a real shit life, lately. Oh yeah, and that Dad's pretty much an asshole, but I knew that already. Wonder how he'll react to the news that he has another daughter? Not to mention more grandkids via Talia. Given the grief she's had with her first son, it's beyond me why she wants any more. Maybe that's the insanity showing. I'm hoping that she'll keep quiet about our relation if I tell her. While she tried to sound noncommittal when she talked about Dad, it's pretty obvious that there's no love lost between those two. Maybe she can even help me figure when the best time to spring my news on Dad is. I want it to be as inconvenient as possible. He deserves that and more for the way he's treated women. I'd rant about how landers let men get away with far too much of that sort of thing, but Mom didn't exactly make an effort to stop him, either.

From the sound of it, Talia has a rather strange family. Somehow her son, and another Amberite named Konrad, had a daughter together. Konrad is a very good shapeshifter, apparently. I don't even want to think about it. Men are men, and women are women. That's the way we were created. The thought that some...male could become female, bear a child...It's disgusting.

Aunt Llewella's little get together looks more politically sensitive than she first let on. Just a simple meeting of women. Yeah, right. Not when one of them is Bleys' wife, another is Vialle, and the event is the christening of Calypso's new child. Especially since one of the women is Clarissa. Odd for Random's army commander to be in the home of his enemy. What in Lyr's name is going on here?
