He arrives on his knees, which is perfectly suited for his new environment, being a good position from which to grovel and also to receive several well placed kicks. Jubal gets Trumped, but that's secret stuff and no concern of yours. Thbt! Sandr determines that he's done a bad thing, as he realizes that he's the captive of a rather abusive, though cute, Chaosite hell-bitch. Assessing the danger that he is in, he decides to tell her to suck him. She goes to fetch the lampreys. Laughter stops by Archimedes' room on her return to the infirmary. She is bearing books, but sadly, no breakfast. Speaking of books, Cameron remembers back to those glory days of his youth, before he became an illiterate thug, and recalls that his mother kept these strange objects called books, or something. Uncertain as to their contents, but recalling that some had pictures, he returns to Chaos. Ullysses Trumps Bleys, who's elated at the opportunity to assist in the retrieval of his moron brother's brat for absolutely no possible benefit to himself or the universe. Of course. He does eventually agree to look at the Trump which Jubal stole from Sandr. Ulysses begins a sketch of Jubal. Laughter brings some chicken soup for Archimedes. She was going to make him some nice gruel, but those darned cooks insisted that soup was a better idea. It's all very sad. Sandr gets a sinking feeling as he realizes that the Chaos witch really meant it about the lampreys. My, but their teeth are sharp, aren't they? This is what happens to nasty little boys who use naughty words. Ulysses Trumps Jubal, who agrees to give Bleys the card if he will help him in return. Ulysses arrives shortly with Bleys, who wonders how much more imbalanced this dealmaking is going to get. He decides that finding Corwin would be a remarkably unhealthy thing to do at this point in his life, so he drops off Jubal at Corwin's Pattern and vamooses with the Trump. Bleys determines that the Trump is an elaborate trap with which to capture Sandr. He refrains from commenting on the astounding lack of neccessity for such a clever lure. He springs the trap and contains the Primal Chaos which waits on the other end. Ulysses still wants more help, but Bleys opts not to play free favors anymore and just points out that the boy has a Trump of Dworkin. Cameron raids his mom's library. He finds Rhiannon and Cirion listed, as well as a glowing report of Dara. Jubal, his mother, and the two assailants are notably missing from the books. Ulysses Trumps Dworkin. The falls into an awed silence as everyone realizes that Dann hasn't read past the second book. Dworkin throws him out, and Flora's lad Trumps his pal. Sandr feels a moment of wet pain, then blacks out as Ulysses pulls him out. Gerard and Fiona assist in remove Nazi boy's latest useless apendage. Jubal Trumps Corwin, and the contact largely succeeds, but it remains frustratingly distant and ambiguous. Archimedes hurts, but he manages to get to the library, where he researches the Pattern. Meanwhile, Laughter works on a lightening spell in the privacy of her quarters. Cameron also notes that Dworkin, Oberon, Benedict, Osric, and Finndo are still listed in the Chaosite Who's Who. Jubal is still not represented. Cameron sleeps on it, then returns to Amber. Ulysses watches Gerard work on Sandr. Jubal attempts to walk his father's Pattern, but this does not happen. Unwilling to puzzle it out at the moment, he instead Trumps Laughter and returns to Amber. Sandr is in a world of pain. The game log, at this point in the narrative, takes a pop and potty break. Ulysses Trumps Fiona. Something about a Trump sketch. She suggests that he is just as qualified as she is. At this point, Jubal arrives, and he and Laughter seek out Fiona. Archimedes has a nice talk with Llewella, who is merrily destroying people's lives. Finding Fiona absent from her room, Laughter Trumps her and gets denied. Jubal loses interest and returns to the infirmary to think. Laughter leaves a note, then proceeds to the library for books on sorcery. She helps Archimedes return to his room. They decide to graph the Pattern. Jubal can't determine how his mother's mind was wiped. Ulysses and Sandr argue over the latter's moral status. Cameron arrives in Amber. Dinner is mercifully unnoticed. Cameron finds the infirmary and feels mighty welcome. He goes to the city to look for Caine. Sandr mentions that he'd like to fuck Laughter. Archimedes tries to come down off the peyote as Laughter dines with him. Ulysses finds a rose for Sandr to give to Laughter. Gerard, meantime, relocates the whiny lout to his own room. Ulysses returns, followed closely by Laughter. Ulysses abandons his friend, who kind of apologizes. Laughter would rather discuss spell theory.
