From dannimal@engin.umich.eduTue Jan 17 17:05:59 1995 Date: Fri, 13 Jan 1995 13:36:35 -0500 (EST) From: Dann Fuller To: shadows@umich.edu Subject: Game Log 26 We open with Sandr dreaming of an albino raven in gusting winds. The raven is trying to get Sandr to help it, but Sandr wakes up all too soon. Ulysses, returning to the castle, finds that Sylvie is a little bit of a pain at times. She thought it would be wise to put Morgenstern in Ulysses' room for the night, where the horse proceeded to play a game known as "Shit Lots". Cameron and his Grandmother talk of the destruction of pattern, and how Chaos would like to do it. There is also talk of an upheaval concerning the Demons, and Cameron decides to call his ever loving father. Caine is not surprised that Chaos is interested in destroying the pattern. Sky, following a pattern set by Sandr, dreams of being a bird. She is a red hawk, flying over an earthquake. Another hawk flies into the dream, only to be recognized as the missing link between Archimedes and Sky, namely his son, her father. They fly together, the earth falls away, giving way to flying through the stars. Dad explains that he misses sky. Then, Sky is awakened by a servant, who was sent to assist Sky by Merlin. The servant brings clothing for Sky, but doesn't get the pleasure of putting them on her. Sky goes to the Library to see Merlin, where they talk, and she is disgusted to learn he is Corwin's son. Merlin wants to draw a Trump of Sky. Ulysses goes for his quasi-standard morning run, while Sandr goes to make sure that Ulysses' room gets cleaned. Then, he returns to bed, only to be awakened by a bee. The bee, and his avian teammate, attack Sandr, beating the piss out of him, much as anything that attacks Sandr does. Sandr runs down the hall, banging on doors, looking for help. A stark naked Archi opens the door, and 'eviscerates' (to use the highfalutin language or our GM) the bird, ceasing the assault. Sandr goes to the infirmary, where Gerard tends to him. He falls asleep, and dreams again. The white raven is back, again asking for help. The raven is on a volcano, but Sandr wakes before he can do anything useful. Ulysses is cleaning himself after his run, and Dworkin drops by for a chat. Ulysses, confused, as Dworkin supposedly washed his hands of Amber, asks a reason for Dworkin's appearance. Dworkin complains that the future isn't changing. Ulysses thinks back to Back to the Future, and tries to explain future timelines to Dwor "Don't say future" kin. Dworkin lets slip that Laughter is having a boy, and Ulysses is confused. Maybe the girl comes later, Uly "I'm not too bright in the bathroom" sses thinks. Breakfast happens. No-stubble-on-my-chin-do has escaped. The servant who brought the beautiful news dies not long after delivering it. Dworkin tries to discern the cause of death, at the behest of others, and collapses. Sandr wakes up and comes down to get food. Ulysses trumps Random, and tells him what has happened. Archi and Ran Grumpy Old Man dom come down to the eating area. Dworkin comes around, wishing we all had lamented greatly his passing. All are confused. Ulysses taunts Laughter about being pregnant and whatnot, as Laughter strongarms Ulysses into going to earth for an OB/GYN appointment with Beauty. Ulysses opens a trump to Foil, but finds out that today is the day of the tentacle. After being cut free of his newfound slimy friend, it is discerned that All of shadow is foggy. Too much quickly melting snow, I guess. The fog is closing in. Ran I know more than you dom is aware of the fog, but not the extent of it's presence. Then, as if to add to the problems of our hapless adventurerers, a small girl, looking much like Sandr, appears on the scene. It is revealed that her name is Eve, and that she is a child of Maron's. She was the raven in Sandr's dreams. Ulysses, in an attempt to get to a place (and time) where the fog is not around, Trumps away through Hewitt. He ends up in present Arden, much to his dismay. Ulysses goes to see the only person with any kind of time magic in sight, Tianen. She trades the info on who sprung Dolphindo for freedom. Ulysses is appointed parole officer. They go back to Arden, and then back in time, to Garden. They turn invisible, and observe. They watch themselves go back to the future, and then proceed to where the action is. The kids are all right, and Laughter and Archimedes lead them on a quest, strangely enough, to the present. But, even stranger, Laughter and Archi keep going, 30 years into the future. Tianen and Ulysses follow, leaving Sylvie in the present. Laughter and Archi reveal that Amber is coming to an end, because Dworkin is dying. Apparently, in Ulysses/Tianen's future, six houses of Chaos, (Helgram, Hendrake, Jesby, Vertix, Halybard, and Atherton, if you care) unite, and steal the rest of the Eyes of the Serpent. Then, in a mad spree of stupidity and selfishness, anyone with any kind of power draws their own pattern. Thus, Laughter and Archi are off to their own Universes, to be safe, when Dworkin dies. Ulysses and Tianen return to the present, but Tianen is a little intrigued that her house is involved. Cameron and Sylvie discuss the future/past visitors, and then the new kid on the block. Sylvie get fed up with Cam Am I annoying you yet eron, and puts hi is a hole in the ground. Sky and Sylvie then go to meet Eve. Eve and Sylvie find common ground in their mutual appreciation of feline life forms, and go to play with the cats. Cameron, now since out of his hole, discusses with the 'visitors' (or Gardeners, if you want to be punny) but doesn't get a whole lot of info. The Garden-ers split up, going to Rebma, The Graveyard, and the Grove of the Unicorn. Cameron follows the Graveyard group, but gets no more information. He gives up. Eve and Sylvie come over to Cameron, and bug him. Sandr and Sky have a falling out, over the methods of childrearing, and Sandr decides to attack Sky. The castle thinks that this is a less than bright idea. So, the castle hits Sandr upside the head with a brick. Now, Sandr can safely claim that ANYTHING can kick his ass. Sky takes the opportunity to hang Sandr out the window upside down. How prophetic. Ulysses finds the future Tristan and Orielia, and discusses why they're here. They say that the castle is going to come alive, and it's going to keep the ones it likes, kick out the ones it doesn't, and go nuts. Ulysses agrees to let them spill the beans at dinner. He then leaves the two loving nutcases. Cameron tells Gerard about the Garden-ers, then goes to the Grove to talk to what will be come his baby brother. Like Cameron, Nicodemus spouts quips and one-liners. They kind of sort of get along. Sky goes to Eve, who is sleeping, to see how she is doing, and then on to dinner. She, given the wide choice of seating, decides to sit next to Merlin. He hits on her. Cameron returns, and takes the last remaining seat. Ulysses comes in, and tries to explain things about the future Dworkin dying, and the stealing of eyes, and Ran I can't follow you dom gets confused, and wonders where Ulysses comes up with this shit. Then, the bearers of good tidings arrive, and tell the story of the castle who ate Amber. Benedict verifies that it has happened before, and the place begins the evacuation procedure. Sylvie left a cat inside, so Ulysses and she go after it. Ulysses is swallowed up by a hole, and vanishes. Ulysses wakes up hanging upside down from Ygg, buck naked. He discovers that he is to be here for 9 days and nights, to get enlightened. He also discovers that Maron and some bitch put him there, and that Ygg is going to sleep. Ulysses (well, we know it's not him, but we'll play along) comes out of the castle with Sylvie and the cat, and then tries to get Sandr to not go alone to Chaos. Then, Ulysses suggests that he and Sandr go hunting through Shadow to find Bleys and Fiona. Sandr doesn't think that this is a good idea, so he blanches. Eventually, he caves. ______________________________________________________________________________ Dann Fuller Journ Tarmakk Prince Ulysses of Amber Mac/IBM Repair Chancellor, Eternal Ban Trump Artist, Alcoholic, CAEN Service Center Technicolor Conjuror Nymphomaniac, and all 313-763-5413 Eternal Citadel, Faerun around fun guy. --- dannimal@engin.umich.edu --- Golf, an relaxing break from the hassle of the rat race, constantly interrupted by an annoying little white ball. ______________________________________________________________________________
