A younger brother, whom I've barely thought about since Patternfall, has gotten himself into trouble and the two ton guilt rock just smashed me squarely on the head. He could have trumped me, too. I'm in the standard deck. And it's not like I even knew he existed until Random called after Patternfall fall and said, oh ya, by the way, your mother killed herself after I got her pregnant again, and left her again, and Brand just happened to use use your little brother as asphalt for the Black Road. Instead of calling then, or at least trying to find him, tell him something about the mother he never knew, I play cowboys and Indians for the next hundred years, too wrapped up in myself to give a fuck. So much for the isolation theory. This mess *will* be straightened out. I have yet to test Song and this, on top of Julian's death, puts me in the proper mood to. Song. I really wonder what I've gotten myself into this time. First I'm wearing her dead lovers' clothes and now I believe I'm wielding his sword. This relationship is definitely taking a weird twist. I care about Laughter an awful lot, but I'm beginning to wonder if I didn't catch her at a bad time. I mean, she thought Ulysses was sleeping with her daughter and her sister at the same time. That's enough to put any woman off, I would think, especially if she wasn't sleeping with anyone. C'est ma vie, n'est pas? Merd. Hopefully it's more than a phase she's going through this time. If it is, I might really have to turn the charm on. But I digress. The first step is to get Martin back and uncover the motivation behind that little escapade. If you live through that, Archimedes, then you can worry about Laughter. I wonder what my chances are in recruiting Jubal and Sandr for this little adventure? I don't think I'm willing to leave this up to Random, he hasn't had the best track record in looking after his children.
