I am now a Director’s Fellow at NREL, where I use computer models and statistical mechanics to understand how small (typically nano-scale) particles self-assemble into ordered structures.  Currently we are improving techniques used to model the molecules of interest for organic solar cells and new batteries.

Previously I was a postdoc in Arthi Jayaraman’s lab where I applied GPU-accelerated simulations to problems in polymer and organic solar cell self-assembly.  My Ph.D. thesis advisor was Sharon Glotzer.  Working in the Glotzer group, I focused on developing new computational tools for predicting thermodynamically stable structures of patchy particles, extremely efficient Monte Carlo simulations, and assemblies of shape-shifting and self-propelled particles.

In January I will be starting my new laboratory at Boise State University.
