so my friend dan the other day said "is that what memorial day is about, forgetting everything?"

and no one said anything.

i think we all knew what we thought memorial day is about, but no one (well, maybe just me) was sure how to talk about what they thought memorial day was about without referencing current administration.

memorial day isnt about forgetting anything, but maybe more about not letting things get forgotten... maybe even not letting things pass us by...

but really, who are these memories more important to?

well, i like my memories. and these little things, i hope i can hold on to how nice they make me feel sometimes.

but i guess the thing about memories is that we're constantly making new ones, right?

I know, I know…since february. Long time.

Well, whats to say about that? Seems like ‘sorry’ doesn’t really explain or do justice to anything…

But actually, there’s not much needed to be said, I don’t think.
Camera broke back in march.

Also, just been busy. You know how it goes.
Finished my mfa.

Took a trip to Paradise. Which one could say has resulted in multiple trips to Paradise.
Watched people construct for a huge puppet parade.

Attended several celebrations.

Saw some things awesome.

Oh yeah, I turned 30.

Got a new coffee maker.

Went out for a few drinks (you’ll notice kat’s beautiful framed illustration to the right)

I think Im in that nice period where youre between one thing and another…for some reason im reminded of how people tell those stories about real goal-oriented people getting old and how they wait until they have finished a big portion of a project before their body gives out

(i.e., kubrick finished shooting eyes wide shut before he died, and um Im not sure who else you would know of who may fall into this category, but im sure more people do.
Maybe you know someone who I don’t know – that sort of thing.)

So - what have I been doing?

Well, taking stock.

Trying to concentrate on and enjoy the present before mentally moving to the future.

Oh, it’s a good life.
