Research Work
- ForM:
A Computer Vision System for Understanding Architectural
Drawings
The purpose of this research project is to further
develop an existing computer software, which is capable
of extracting automatically morphological information
from scanned images of line compositions. Specifically,
the proposed research will focus on the automatic
extraction of the geometric structure of building plans.
The geometric structure of a plan is synonymous to its
parti. It is a representation composed of lines that
define shapes.
- Funded by a Research
Partnership Grant from Rackham School of Graduate
Studies, The University of Michigan.

- ForMorph: An Integrated
Computer-Aided Model for Architectural Form-Making
The objective of this research project is to investigate
the structure of a system that can be used to integrate
knowledge of architectural morphology and thermal
performance to facilitate more comprehensive analysis of
architectural form during the early phases of the design
process.
- Funded by a grant
($29.000) from the Office of Vice President for
Research OVPR at the University of Michigan.
