On March 27, 1999, the Ann Arbor Highlanders fielded a miniband for the MWPBA contest in Chicago. Pipers P/M Jean Woods, Ewan Macpherson, Richard Burton, and Tom Kennedy; drummers Dave Montcalm, Carolyn Lyons, and Mark Bartley (bass); and able assistants Craig Bartley and Jill Burton were on hand. A good performance earned the group 3rd place in the Grade IV competition.
