Fire: According to Paul Machiele of the Environmental Protection Agency: “This awesome picture was taken with a digital camera in the Bitterroot National Forest in Montana on August 6, 2000, by John McColgan, a fire behavior analyst from Fairbanks, Alaska. Since he was working when he took the picture, he cannot sell or profit from it so he should at least be recognized as the photographer of this once in a lifetime shot.”

Ice: This came from a Rig Manager for Global Marine Drilling in St. Johns, Newfoundland. In this particular case the water was calm and the sun was almost directly overhead so that the diver was able to get into the water and click this picture. They estimated the weight at 300,000,000 tons.
