Session 20

Nowhere Fast

Sinking slowly in a quagmire of looming evil and conspiracy, yet having nothing to do about it... well, it blows, for lack of a better description. Bailes and I left the scene of the crime to pour over the remaining evidence, and amongst a pile of ash, burnt clothing, buttons and buckles, we found a ring embossed with the symbol of the Discordian. You remember them, the group that Friend Cirophsoph hangs with? Swell.

The dagger was even more interesting. It shimmered with a design on the blade that I knew I'd seen before -- that church sword, Redemption, had that same design. So this blade had the Pattern incorporated in it's make? This would be an awesome weapon indeed then. I wanted to find out more about such devices, but Bailes rained on my parade by making me wait for Random or Benedict to check it out. Disheartened, we went to bed, though my spirits picked up shortly after.

I was forced to hand over all of the evidence to Random the next morning, and he basically told Chris and I to cool our heels until Uncle Ben could check the weapon out. Whatever. Chris followed me back to Bailey's for coffee and we told him what we knew of the Discordian, which was all well and good except for the way Christopher kept looking at Bailes. Though I can't blame him, really. Well, actually, if he keeps eyeing her legs like that, I might have to.
