What sense would bother you the most if you lost it,
and why?
The answers (in order recieved):
Hearing. I've always prided myself on not only being able to
hear things others can't, but to listen when others don't.
I have come to depend on it perhaps more than any other sense.
My sight. I like seeing stuff.
Sight. I could never tell if there were bugs in my food.
Probably sound. Loosing taste wouldn't all that bad, and then
loosing smelling is no loss either. Loosing your sense of touch would
kinda
suck cuz you'd never know if you holding something or not and then it was
a
toss up between sight and sound. I think if I lost my sight I could still
listen to movies (at least some) and I could hear music and stuff but if I
couldn't hear songs anymore I think I'd die!!!
sight, because 90% of the input we get from this
world is visual...
My sense of humor. :) Life can suck enough as it is without being
able to laugh at it once in a while.
I'd say 'common sense', but I'm not sure I've ever
really had it, so I probably wouldn't even notice.
I don't really have another answer though since I'd
pretty much hate to lose any of my senses. It
would just suck anyway you slice it. Smell is the
one I'd be most willing to relinquish, but I
think I like the rest of my senses too much to
consider giving 'em up.
Either my sight or my hearing since I happen to draw, and drawing
requires your sight in order to make art anywhere near decent. If I
couldnt'
see, I couldnt' read, couldn't draw, couldn't drive... Do you realize how
many
things are based on your sight!!!!!????? As for my hearing, well, I
really
enjoy music, and to be deprived of that, well, I really dont' think I'd
want to
knwo what would happen to me if I lost either of those two sense.
My first instinct is to say sight, but I
think I'd be even more screwed up if I lost
my sense of touch because then I'd feel really
disconnected from the world.
Hmm....I guess losing my sight would be awful,
because it would take so much getting used to (not being able)
to see people, or see theatre, dance, or anything visual), but I
think hearing would really kill me, because
I am such a music person. I also would hate not being able
to talk as a result (I mean, besides sign lang.) I really
enjoy listening to music, it's practically my life,
and singing as well. So, I guess hearing would bother me the most.
I don't know. I guess the sense of touch, because that would suck
pretty bad.
Sight would be the biggest loss for me, mostly
because I feel that it the sense that is most
difficult to compensate for. For instance, if
you lose your hearing you can still read written
words and read lips. Smell and taste are nice
to make life more enjoyable but can be done
without. But there is no way to describe the
beauty of a snow-capped mountain, a newborn
child, etc. to a blind person and have them
REALLY know what they are missing.
Touch. Although I never have heard of someone losing their sense of
touch and still being able to move, it would be horrible if it could and
did
happen. it wouldn't just make things difficult, it would make me feel
even
more seperated from the people i love.
My sense of honor. It's all I have, except for
the hand-carved end-table and the lamp that sits
on top of it. But I could live without those.
touch.
i had my wisdom teeth out, and i was miserable
until the novicane wore off. esp. since they told
me that one of the things that could happen is they could accidentally
cut one of my nerves and id never ever have feeling in my lower face ever
ever
again.
My answer:
Touch. While I value all my senses highly, not being able to feel
somebody hug me would be worse than anything else. And that's not even
starting on the practicle elements of not being able to sense pain, or
heat, or cold...
