Have you ever had a reoccuring dream? If so, describe it.

The answers (in order recieved):

  • REacurring dream?? yeah.. every night lately. almost a nightmare, but the girl of my dreams is in it too umm.. that's enough

  • I haven't, but Keith has.

  • I've had more than a few, acutally. My dreams seem be in syndication. The one(s) I remember best right now weren't recurring by common definition. Somehow or other some mysterious type always worked his way in, and I just knew he was the one I loved. Never got a clear look at his face though -- which sucked royal.

  • No. When I was young, I had this really scary dream over and over - my sister and my dad were blown up by a nuclear bomb, and me and my mom were kidnapped by an evil wicked witch, along with lots of other people. For dinner, the wicked witch served poison birdseed. I knew it was poison, and I didn't eat it, and I tried and tried to stop my mom from eating it, but she did anyway and died and I was all alone trapped by the wicked witch. The worst part was the feeling of inevitability - I couldn't stop my mom no matter how much I wanted to. Eventually I stopped having this nightmare, but it was terrible when I used to get it regularly.

  • when I was younger, I used to have nightmares about losing my breath and not being able to scream.

  • Hmmmmm, can't say that I have, all though I did have this neat dream the other night where I was married to the girl I like, and we had two blue ducks for kids and I met Eddie Murphy and supposedly we were old friends and he introduced me to his wife and kids, who were these Teddy Bear people. The kids were especially weird cuz they were just Teddy Bear heads with hands and feet stickin' out the sides. I have weird dreams.

  • Yep. I'm in my old elementary school in the gym when the school catches fire and as I'm trying to run out as fast as I can, I move really slow almost in slow motion and for some reason I can't stand so I'm crawling as fast as I can in slow motion (if that makes any sense) and I always seem end up outside in the snow....

  • Actually, yes, I have, and you'll probably find it a bit weird. I and all of my friends are officers in the Imperial Starfleet, and we usually end up getting destroyed by some moron in an X-Wing who happens to hit the shield generator or the two meter wide exhaust port right below the ship's engine, er, servomotor. But there is lots of fire and death.

  • For a long time, I had reoccuring dreams about fire. They plagued my childhood, but I don't seem to have them anymore. Now I just have scary dreams about bugs.

  • When I was a little kid (~approx. 3-5 years) I had a dream that I would go away to college and my parents would either be dead or at least very old. It was a nightmare for me at the time. Little did I know that college IS a nightmare!

  • Well, my nightmares are often have the same theme: parents/relatives/people close to me are evil and are trying to kill me (paranoid, me??) Usually it's with a knife (since I fear knives more than guns), and often it's in the basement. I usually kill the attacker in self-defense. :) My normal dreams often feature swimming pools...not sure of the symbolism there...? But no complete dreams that reoccur.

  • I have several reoccuring dreams. One of the more vivid and weird ones is like this: I keep this birdcage under the bed which is open on one side and divided into 3 sections. Somehow the cage is connected with a CD player (which contains CDs by Rush, The Doors, and Yes), and each the CD player changes CD's, it triggers something to make the bird in the appropriate cage hungry. One day, I was feeding the birds LSD, and somehow I took some by accident. Immediately I started tripping (and for those of you who don't know about LSD, it usu. takes a while before it kicks in). But the weird part was that I started to vomit but the vomit looked like claymation. I have NO IDEA what this dream means.

  • Ever since moving to Ann Arbor, I've had a recurring dream that I will wake up one morning and find car covered with parking tickets. Funny, I only have this dream when I conciously have parked my car illegally the night before. I guess there's probably a pretty good connection there. :)

  • I don't have a specific recurring dream, but for some reason tornadoes do tend to pop up in a lot of my dreams. I have no idea why.

  • I haven't had a reoccurring dream per se, but I have had some dreams with a similar motif to them. These are the dreams in which I am in a risky profession, such as world-saver or jungle-cat tamer. In these dreams, something always goes wrong, and I die. I wake up at the very moment I "die", which is always scary. Kinda depressing, huh?

  • My recurring dream involved beating you to a pulp, Donald.

  • I have this one dream where i'm bestowed a Green Lantern ring, and i can't get it to do much of anything. Can barely fly. Can't create much. And it sucks cause if i had one for real, I'd be greater than hal jordan ever was.

  • i've had a recurring kind of dream...the settings differ, but i'm always on a quest of some kind. i'm going somewhere, to do something or get something and i don't know where it is...but i know how to get there, somehow...i know which forks in the road to take.

  • Actually, lately, I haven't had recurring dreams. But in many of them, I've had a recurring motif. Many of my dreams recently have had me spilling something on my shirt. Yeah, I know. But it's even more mundane for me, because that happens to me a lot in real life, too.

    My answer:

I used to have horrible nightmares about Guy Smiley from Sesame Street. These days my reocurring dreams tend to invlove me meeting the woman of my dreams, marrying her, and having her leave me two months later.
