What is your all-time favorite computer game?

The answers (in order recieved):

  • My all time favorite computer game would probably have to be Betrayal at Krondor: it has great CD-ROM music, 3D descent-esque graphics made before Descent came out, and not only was the best FRPG (computerwise) of 1995 but the best GAME of 1995. For good reason...

  • qbert was an awesome game. I used to play it on an old black and white monitor, it became a bit more challenging that way. I also really liked miss pacmac and tetris. I guess the all time best would have to be pong though. Used to take the 64s half an hour to load by casset tape.

  • Hmmm...well, the only one I've tried so far that has really had me gripped, like, for hours, would be "Might and Magic III: Isles of Terra". Terra is such an awesome virtual universe, and it was the first game I'd found for my Mac that had really great graphics as well as terrific gameplay. It takes days to finish, and there is SO much to explore that it's well worth the $50 or so. That's why, when I get some moolah, I must buy Might & Magic: World of Xeen. I'm also partial to a game that I associate fondly with my childhood, Tass Times. (Ennio the dog! Yeahhh!)

  • Wizardy, dude. Hands down. 4 color, line drawn graphics, all written in ASSEMBLER.

  • I don't have a computer :P My favorite Nintendo game is either Final Fantasy III, FF II, or EarthBound

  • Shufflepuck Cafe (Sim City is second)

  • It's gotta be The Bard's Tale. The original. Sure, there's been other fantasy computer games with better graphics and action, but it was always a classic for me. It was easy to understand, there were cool spells and magic items, and I managed to win the game before I got too bored with it. I've never liked any other computer fantasy game as much since.

  • Oh, for some odd reason I'm still a sucker for the computer game of Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy. It was soooo cool...

  • I don't consider it a game, but my computer thinks it is... It's called "Keep the computer working!"

  • you CAN'T name just ONE favorite computer game.. if you can..you're one up on me..oh..so you're gonna MAKE me name one?? shit.. I'd have to say.. hmm.. umm..hmm.. WHY do you do this to us????

  • NBA JAM

  • Most deffinatly that would be Ultima 7! Mega cool game. I like the fact that you don't have to stick to the story and you can do whatever the hell you want to pretty much!

  • Surfing Netscape counts ?

  • Pong. Gotta be pong. What else has the excitement, the drama, the pulse-pounding tension of a good game of Pong? Doom -- I scoff at Doom; it's got nothing on Pong.

  • i love the old infocom games. i miss those. on my pc- warcraft 2, tho i dont have the ram to run it right now on my nintendo- uncharted waters. i donno why i love all these sailing games.

  • Jetfighter 2 is quite interesting. But Attack of the Killer Tubists is better!! Racing games are the best computor games overall!

  • Myst. It's the only computer game I've really liked; no shooting things, no bizzare Infocom machinations...just wandering around a gorgeous landscape trying to figure out what's going on.

    My answer:

Micro League Baseball. Not that new version for the IBM that looks like all the other baseball simulators, but the original for the C64. Still the only simulator I've found that doesn't give batters a huge advantage, or require great hand-eye coordination to have fun with.
