What decission that you thought was minor at the time has had the largest effect on your life?

The answers (in order recieved):

  • To join McPherson's gaming campaign. This has led to: meeting Allen, Ian, Jason, etc. Dating Allen. More confer. Many more friends. And various other life-changing events. And an unreasonable distaste for gaming.

  • One time when I was with my friends we decided to go for a little joyriding, at the time we didn't think that it was too big a deal, but after we went to court and found out that it would be on our permanent record thats when it turned out to be bigger thatn I had expected.

  • hmmm. possibly the decision to take a psych course my freshman year...it was a spur of the moment thing, i certainly wasn't considering it as a major, and ended up not only majoring in it but going to grad school, even. 8^) a close second was the decision to toss off an e-mail to someone i hardly knew because they made a comment i thought was funny...you never know where one e-mail exchange can take you.

  • The decision to join meet-students: Through it I've met my best friends, including two boyfriends-- one of whom I'm still with. Through meet-students I got into gaming, and met my other best friends. Geez. That's so geeky.

  • Where I applied to college. I wish that I toke the time to apply to some schools that I thought I didn't have a good chance of getting into. However, all I gotta say is.... GO CAL!!!!!!!

  • The decision to confide in a friend at 3:00 one morning ended up getting me into a long-term relationship--I never saw it coming :) But I can't say I'm unhappy about it!

  • The decision to try not to be shy in my hometown. If I had known how THAT was gonna turn out, I would have stayed with being the shy, wallflower type that I originally was. Instead, I had to try and act friendly, like I was someone who was worth getting to know. That decision pretty much cost me all the self-respect I had, due to people not accepting me for tryig, and ridiculing me because of it, which lasted until I was out of high school, and into college.

  • I thought talking to that leprichan was pointless, but now I'm rich!!!

  • I won't know about the effect till she finds out who sent the letter to her

  • Actually I think it was the choice I made on which highschool I wanted to go to. I had a choice between an all girls school or a co-ed. I chose co-ed and I think it had a major impact on my interactions with the opposite sex.

  • Easy -- joining the Michigan Review as a staff writer in my freshman year. Since then, I've served on the Editorial Board, been Publisher, got great experience, met a lot of people, and really got involved in campus affairs. SURE, I spent some Saturday nights wasting away like all the other editorial board members, but it has been a great experience overall. You know, we're looking for new people there. You should join. All of you should join. You've got...Donald, wait! NO! STOP! DON'T CUT ME OFF! LIBERTY WILL PRE....come back here! DONALD?! But in all seriousness, I never thought I would be in the position I am today, and it is all due to joining the Review! Would I do it again? YES.

  • It must have been the discussion between me and Ed (if you keep up with the Q of the W, you know who ED is). We were talking about wether or not we should join band in 7th grade.

  • Well it's not the biggest effect on my life but it's all I could think up at the time. One of the first girls that I asked out, I was totally in love with. I figured I'd ask her out (cuz hey, the worst she could do was say no, right?) anyways, shit happened and she led me on for 3 months thinking she liked me when I finally found out, I was crushed. Ever since, I've had a totally different outlook on the whole dating thing, I haven't felt so much love for anyone ever again, and I to this day, hate her for what she did to me, like no hate I have for anyone else in this world.

  • Choosing what school to go to.

  • The most minor decision to date would have to have been joining an old friend as she walked clear across campus to hang out with her crowd. They "adopted" me and I adore them today :)

  • when I said that I'd date the person who is now my boyfriend

  • Grad School

  • Going away to college instead of commuting to a local one. I had to learn interpersonal relationships (with the roomates from Hell!) and I met my husband there.

  • One time I was playing walleyball with this tuba-loser, and I didn't like his attitude, so I decked the bastard. It changed my life because it made me feel good.

  • Playing with food. I first gunged myself to see what it was like. Now I`m totally hooked! You should try it!

    My answer:

Switching to the tuba in 7th grade. By doing that I probably changed who my best friend in high school would be, and how much I'd enjoy band. THose changed who I hung out with in high school, and influenced not only who I hung out with in college, but what college I'd go to.
