Hmm.. Tough one, as I have never really thought about it myself.. I
just listen to a lot of music I like. :) But when I have to pick one out
(and
an active one on top of that..) I'd say 'Weird' Al Yankovic.
Depends on the mood I'm in. If I'm depressed, I like Ben Harper.
Contemplative, Enya. Mellow, Harry Connick Jr. Lovelorn, the soundtrack
from
Xanadu. Happy, some sort of ska or swing music.
If it were groups, I'd say the Art of Noise. For individual
musicians, I think Mark Gunderson of E.C.C. would be it.
This box isn't big enough to write out the tie.
Rick Savage from Def Leppard. I've been a Leppard
fan for 18 years, and I've always had a thing for Sav.
Must be those eyes and that gorgeous hair :-)
I totally head-over-heels for ~*Dido*~>br?
She's the bee's knees, the cat's pajamas, the "bomb" (to use a couple
really
ancient descriptors and a fairly new one that's sure to wake up
Eschelon...)!
Oh, I like Joan Osborne, Patti Smith and Marianne Faithful, too.
They are some kick*ss broads with such great voices they almost defy
description.
Well, Bruce Willis doesn't REALLY count as a musician,
active or otherwise, so I'd have to say ... Steven
Curts Chapman, at the moment.
fleetwood mac. not stevie -- the whole band.
Cecilia Bartolia, the best opera singer in the
realm of space and time. I could listen to her
for hours and hours.
George Bedard and the Kingpins
MMB Tuba Section
Prince. (definitely NOT when he was symbolic)
John Reis

As required by my continued status as an official resident of the
state of New Jersey, I must say Bruce Springteen. It's good old fashioned
rock
and roll, although his politics of late have put him out of touch with the
people that made him what he was.
I dont think I have a single favorite musician. My favorite musician
depends on what type of mood I am in.
My favorite active musician is Taj Mahal.
I can only pick one? I guess it would have to be David Bowie, whom I
absolutely worship. He can sing, he can dance, he can write, he can act,
he can
paint, and he's beautiful in a sexy, androgynous way. He's always an
original,
an innovator, and has tons of style. Not to mention he's like 54 now and
still
looks gorgeous! He's even hip to the Internet and has his own
award-winning
website and service provider (BowieNet). I could go on and on...he's
simply one
of the all-time greats.
I would have to say Rodger Waters, though i don't really consider
him that active currently. But he isn't dead yet.
Rob Zombie
my answer is:
John Williams. I know that he borrows liberally from other sources, but I
think he does so brilliantly. I can't imagine Star Wars, Indiana Jones or
Superman without his music.
