Is the United States most likely to have a female president first, a minority president first, or a female minority president first, and do you have any idea who it will be?

Question of the week for 2/8 to 2/15

The answers (in order recieved):
  • Yuck. I don't think there will ever be a minority or female president. I strongly suspect there will be a revolution first. I don't say this because I think that there will be 50 more WM presidents. I don't think there will be many more before there is a serious change in our government.

  • We will probably not have either of those for a loooong, long time, mainly because I think people are still a bit attatched to the father of our country bit, as well as the fact that I don't think a lot of people would be comfortable with a women president. I don't know, I think that a minority male would be more likely to succeed in a race for the presidency, just because of the gender issue. If there was going to be a minority president, I'd like to see Colin Powell do the job, although I'd be pretty weary, since there have been a few generals who have made pretty lousy presidents, like Grant and Eisenhower.

  • A minor first... Whoops flashback to HS daze. I mean a minority. We don't need a minority, we don't need a female, we just need SOMEBODY with some goals/energy/charisma to get the job done.

  • a minority male, because I think that men are in their heart of hearts more accepting of minority males than females. Plus women a smart enough not to vote for someone just because they lack a penis.

  • i think it will be a minority male. don't know who, but it'll be a moderate.

  • I would definitely say a minority male parsident will come first. People in this country are just not ready for a female in the white hey-ouse. Best Guess: Shaft.

  • Ooh... Given the principles this great nation was founded upon, and the twits running the show, I'd honestly say that the republic will fall first. Hateful, isn't it?

  • I know little about politics, but I know a set of twins that would argue that we ALREADY have a woman president. (Don't try too hard to figure that out...inside joke)

  • I would say most likely a female president. As far as who it will be... I don't think it will be soon, so who knows.

  • Probably a minority president first, cause guys are stupid that way. African American college grads make less than white college grads, but more than white female college grads. Who? Prolly somebody that hasn't even been born yet.

  • Female president. Hopefully it will be Nicole Kidman, who will then ask me to be her Presidential Fluff Boy.

  • i say a minority pres. because i think that men have too much of a power/ control thing to comfortably allow a woman as a leader. They are too scared to let a woman be in a power p[osition over them. We see that even now with all the hilary jokes. either way, tho, i dont think we will be seeing wither in a looong looong time. i question if i will in my lifetime. i would be happy to see either, however i would still vote more based on how they are politically than race/sex.

  • A female president. The US is still a racist & sexist place!! (Actually, we already have Hillary as our president)

  • I think that the only viable Jewish candidate would be Arlen Specter. I'll defer to Al Franken on this one. He said that there are two ways the Republicans would nominate Specter. One is a plane crash. A A 747 carrying Dole, Gramm, Buchanan, and Alexander crashes... on top of Newt Gingrich and Colin Powell. The second is a bus crash. It plays out kind of the same way.

  • I'm gonna go with a minority president mainly because I think theres more sexists than racists out there. How's that sound?

  • minority president. I know this because the magic 8-ball said so.

  • A female president.

  • I think since Canada was the first of the two to have a female prime minister that the U.S. is due to have a female president or at least a female vice president. I have no clue as to who it could be.

    my answer is

A female president will come first, and will likely come within the next 20 years. Although there is still much racism and sexism in this country I feel that there is less of each than there ever have been. I also think that the combination of less sexism and more women voters will be responsible for a woman in the white house before a minority is. I don't think that anybody that is currently famous is likely to be the first non-white male president.
