If money were no object, what kind of car would you drive?

The answers (in order recieved):

  • Wow, that's difficult.. There are so many to chose from.

I'd take a Jaguar XJ220 (http://www.seattlejagclub.org/images/xj204.jpg) just for the looks.

For day-to-day use I'd take a new Toyota Prius (http://www.toyota.se/media/global/images/specials/prius_launch/sViewing/gal_im gs/i800/10.jpg), because I love new technology, it's cheap to own (but expensive to buy), and you don't have to pay car tax or road tax over here because it's an "eco-friendly" car.

For a "fun" car I'd get a 50's Willy's Jeep and modernize it (new seats, new interior, good sound system, GPS nav system, etc..)

Though if I ever get around to taking my motorcycle license, I'd get either a Yamaha Roadstar Warrior, or a Yamaha BT1100 Bulldog..

As I said, lots of options.

  • One of those cute little Audi convertibles, I think the A6 or A8 or something.

  • A BMW Z4

  • some serious american muscle. a big and bad antique mustang.

  • A smallish 4 wheel drive car. Not one of the big honking SUVs, but something a bit larger than the old Army Surplus standard Jeep. Either way, yank the engine and replace it with a bio-diesel turbine powered hybrid. Hydrogen Hummer

  • The car I'm currently driving...a Jeep Wrangler soft top. Nothing beats a spring day with the roof down and the stereo going.

  • Ferrari. Then I'd need something else for winter driving, unfortunately.

  • toyota prius - but then thats cuz i like to hug trees

  • If money (and the environment) were no object, I think I would drive a 76 Mustang. Or maybe a Chevy Bel Air.... I don't know if I even spelled that right...oh well.

  • If I had to pick just one, I'd get a compact 4x4 pickup with a club cab, because it would meet all my needs -- big enough to haul the family around, or carry a load of compost or manure for the garden, or climb a steep dirt and gravel Forest Service road to a rockhounding site. If I could have two, I'd add an older Corvette, from the late 60's through mid 70's, fully restored.

  • Diesel Mini Cooper convertible, if it were available in the US.

  • 1978 Datsun F-10

  • Heat chili, cook hot-dog, put hot dog in bun, place chili on hot dog and apply mustard... oops, too late for that one! Umm, my utterly unattainable dream car is still a Lambourghini Diablo (do those even come in an automatic? I can't drive a stick to save my life...)

  • prius.

  • Is the Batmobile still an option? I'm not too sure about using afterburners for fuel efficiency... but you can't beat its ject black styling!

  • I'm boring... even with all the money in the world, I'd probably still drive the Chrysler Pacifica.. the car I may buy in the coming months if I don't get the minivan.

  • a ford ranger...red...just like the one i drive now...only 12 years newer. In a few years, my 93 should be able to legally drive itself!

  • Probably a Toyota Prius. My friend Sean has one, and they're nifty.

  • Probably a really really nice lexus. I've never thought about it, because come on, when is money never an object?

  • Sadly, I am not one to lust after cars so my Money No Object Vehicle would probably be a four door hybrid thing (of Doom).

  • A Pontiac GTO, probably mid- to late-60's. The money would go toward paying somebody to maintain it. :)

  • The brand new 2007 Saturn Sky, convertible. It's a thing of beauty. I suppose a red Ferrari wouldn't be bad either.

  • I wouldn't...I don't drive. I have a license, but I am driving-phobic and have not driven since I was a teenager! So...I would ride a horse. :) Or get driven around in a limo!

  • Probably still just a mid-size sedan -- except a new/nicer one, with AC power outlets, CD-mp3 player, ability to stream audio wirelessly from a laptop or other 802.11x device, different temp settings for the left/right seats, and similar fun luxuries. (I like my friend's Toyota Matrix, but I wouldn't want the increased gas mileage or size! :)

  • a customized bass-mobile

  • Car Schmar, I'd buy my own jet plane. If I need to get groceries, I'll fly to FLA for the oranges, WI for the cheese, and TX for the beef.

    My answer:

Gotta go with the DeLorean. I love pretty much all of the 1980s sports cars - especially the slightly angular Corvettes, but if money is no object it's got to be the Back to the Future car.
