Would you want to know the exact time and cause of your death?

  • I don't know. Probably not.

  • After I die

  • ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!!!

  • the ONLY way I'd want to know the exact cause and time of my death was if I were in bed with a girl I really loved.. at least then I'd die happy!!

  • Oh, God no! What would be worse than living your entire life merely counting the days til your death -- not just counting the days in a figurative sense, but also in a literal sense? And just imagine how horrible that last day would be -- "Six hours, thirteen minutes left. Oops; wait -- make that twelve minutes." It would be too easy to loose sight of actually living your life, and turn it rather to a desperate attempt to change how you're going to die instead. The mind reels.

  • Yes, absolutely. Such foresight would add security to life. After that I could do ANYTHING and not have to worry.

  • Yes.

  • I don't want to know anything about my death, I like surprises!!!

  • I don't need to. I already know when where and how I am going to die. It is freaky but I have always known how I would die and when. Now I just have to wait for it to come true.

  • No way. I assume that when I leave home every morning I am going to be hit by a big GMC semi before I reach my destination. That way I live my life completely every day because it COULD be my last. Good thing I'm a better driver than to miss an oncoming semi.

  • No way! Knowing either the time or the cause would make me paranoid and anxious, and I'd always be dreading the day and would feel rather pressured. Nope, I definitely would rather not know.

  • No, because then life would be like Summer Vacation. You are having a lot of fun and you see that school time is coming up but you can't do anything about it.

  • I think that people do know

  • Yes 1) cause then I know I can't die before that. and 2) because maybe I can prevent it...course if fate is that changable, then wouldn't knowing that answer change fate, and maybe that couldn't happen that way? What do you think?

  • Part of me says yes, so I can prepare for it. On the other hand, who's to say I won't do everything in my power so that doesn't happen if I knew about it ahead of time? Everything in life and death happens for a reason beyond us, so I'm going to have to go with a resounding "no" on this one.

  • Hmmm... Assuming that, no matter what I did, I could not change it? Yeah, that would be really nifty. Then I could do all kinds of really dangerous stuff like crashing my car and blowing stuff up and generally making a major nuisance of myself, secure in the knowledge that I won't die until later. (It wouldn't upset me - the idea of dying is one I view as merely a vaguely irritating way of escaping from this hell we live in, and I know I'll die eventually anyway...) It would be cool.

  • Yeah. Why? It would allow me the freedom to do all the things I wanted to do, because I would be able to anticipate my death. Yeah.

  • No. Death is one of the last really big surprises and I don't want anybody spoiling my surprise!

  • Us Immortals don't have this problem.

  • I think if you were dead and still part of you was conscious enough to be thinking about knowing your time and cause of death then you would probably already know this. Yes, it would be nice to know.

  • no. that would suck. you wouldn't have any goals because you could say "hey, im going to die next week anyway, so i might as well do whatever i want now."

  • Yes, I'd love to know... There are many reasons. There are so many things I'd like to do in life before I die... I suppose the main reason I'd like to know is so I can make sure to accomplish the most important things... and tell my family and friends I love them. I've heard so many sad stories where people were mad at a person who died and didn't get the chance to say they loved and cared for them. That's the worst and I wouldn't want that to happen.

  • Nope. I hate dealines.

  • No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. The whole idea of that situation just basically frightens me much more than very many others I can think of. And, actually, I think I would be more afraid to know the cause of my death than the time. Although, whether I get hit by a truck tommorrow or when I'm 92, I would just prefer not to have any knoweldge of my impending doom. The whole thing is just a really horrible concept to me.

  • No. Presumably, it would be unavoidable, other-wise it would only be POSSIBLE time and cause of death not the EXACT time and cause. There would be no point in worrying about it if you couldn't stop it , and I think people should live to the fullest, and have their stuff in order anyway.

  • Yes, I think I would. That way I could be sure to tell everyone everything I'd like them to know and hear. Make sure I have taken care of all that can be taken care of, and make sure my children understand what will be happening if they are still young. Good question....really makes you think!

  • no

  • No way! If I did I would dread that moment and try and find things to alter the time and cause. I'd rather not know and keep living the way I am. Death is meant to be a suprise, not a date to be kept.

  • No because It would scare me more to Know

  • Well, I might want to know when, but not how. I would do all the things I wouldn't normally do because they were either too dangerous or the consequences were too harsh. It also depends on how reliable the source were.

  • No way. There is no way I can possibly accomplish all that I want to in this lifetime, so there's no point in trying to plan it all in before a certain date and time. I'm under enough stress in my life as it is.

    my answer is

I guess. I'd like to know when so that I can do some crazy stuff beforehand, and make sure to say goodbye to everybody first. I wouldn't want to know what though, because I'd waste my last few hours in some feeble attempt to avoid it. But If I had to take both or neither, I'd take both.
