What is the worst physical pain you have ever been in, and would you go through it again for $1000?

Question of the week for 2/15 to 2/21

The answers (in order recieved):
  • The worst that I can remember involved hypodermics being manipulated into a spot behind my kneecaps. Since I'm likely to have to have this again, I may as well get a grand out of it.

  • Well, there's this story I allude to on occasion in which I was about 8 years old, and I had my trusty Space Invaders bike, and we were camping up in Atlanta, Michigan (Northern Lower Penninsula) at Clear lake State Park, which had this gigantic hill leading to the campsites, and my brother and I would ride down this hill, cause it would zip you alongat tr emendous speeds. Anyways, my brother and I are going down, and I have my feet off the pedals, and they got spinning so fast that I couldn't put my feet back on. This was a bike without handbrakes, so I kept gaining speed. I was going so fast that the forces on the fornt wheel were jerking the handlebars back and forth. I hit a patch of gravel and was flung 20 feet, over the hnadlebars, I then proceeded to physically piledrive my face into the blacktop. Suffice it to say that this hurt like a bitch. I quickly lost consciousness, and woke up two days later. Damage Toll: Well, the blacktop blew out half of one of my front teeth, tore the skin off of the left hand side of my face, ripped a goodly portion of skin out of my throat, alomst severed my jugular (blood was spurting out of it, which apparently looked cool at the time, but was potentially life threatening. Would I go through this again for $1000 bucks? Maybe, becuase I lost consciousness really quick and was doped up for a week after that.

  • The same as any adult male. The time my fiance put her full weight on a certain reproductive organs. I would definitely go through it again for $1000, I rather suspect it will happen again anyways.

  • I haven't been through that much; probably the worst pain was that baseball bat incident, and for a thousand bucks...aw sure, why not? No permanent damage...

  • I can't remember, but I'll do a lot for $1000

  • Definitely after my appendectomy two years ago. The muscles had been seriously manhandled during the operation, and the recovery period was *hell*, even much worse than the original pain had been. Morphine was my close friend.... Maybe. Depending on how hard up I was for cash. Probably not, though.

  • This one is too easy. Getting hit by a car and having all the bones in my left leg broken including a compound fracture of both bones in my lower leg. GOt 6 weeks in a body cast & monthes on crutches and a metal plate still in my leg out of the deal. You offer a measly $1000 to repeat the incident? I don't think so. Homey don't play that. Make it $1,000,000 and I might consider it.

  • I think the worst physical pain I've been in was when I smashed my finger in a door, so I've probably been lucky... Yep, I'd go through it again for $1000. (Emotional pain, on the other hand...)

  • The worst was when I was running to catch a schoolbus (8th grade), and slammed myself face-first into the side of the gravelly paved mountain. I broke my right arm, and scraped myself up really bad. And then spent a couple hours in agony until the hospitals opened. (This was not the U.S.) Would I do it again? Hell, no.

  • Chest Pain! Ouch! NOOOOOOOO!

  • The worst pain I have ever been in would be a two-way tie between when I broke my leg while skiing, and when I had to have surgery. As for whether or not I would go through it again for $1000, I would have to honestly say ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR @*(&%^%#@*)^ MIND!!?? There is no way outside of gunpoint that I would even want to go through either of those again. Call me crazy, but I enjoy my health too much.

  • I had the worst back ache ever. I couldn't even roll over in bed it was so bad. But if I knew that it would last for the same duration, I think I'd go thru it ageeeooown for $1000.

  • My brother once stood on my nuts for five full minutes while I wept and pleaded with him to stop. Of course, it was because I kicked him in his weak knee which caused temporary paralysis, but it still hurt like crazy. I'd do it again for a grand, no question.

  • a rather interesting question . . . are you feeling sadistic today or not? Anyway, that's a tough one. About which is the worst physical pain I've been in--probably my ulcer, although most of the time that amounts to just a lot of nausea. The consise point is: ulcer and no. If I had a choice, I would never choose to go through the constant trouble, even for a thousand dollars, even if I got a grand for every pang I had. Basically, I suppose I am a baby about this--I must have a low threshold for pain, but oh, well. This does not bode well for the childbirth department at all, except that I should be extremely grateful for the fact that when my time comes, a little thing called an epidural will be available. :)

  • wow what a question, lets see. I guess it was pretty painful when I was hospitalized when I was 3 years old, but I don't remember it so it couldn't have been that bad. Heheheheh, my answer to part could best be summarized by the american poet Deion Sanders when he was quoted as saying: "Its gotta be the money"

  • falling down on a patch of ice and landing on my hip.

  • I don't honestly remember the worst physical pain I've been in. All the pains I can think of, I say to myself: "Man, that *can't* be the worst. So, if I can't remember it, I'd certainly do it again for $1000.

    my answer is

When I broke my finger slamming the door on it in second grade. (I was trying to slam the door so my sister couldn't get into the room. I missed.) I'd do it again for $1000 bucks. Especially if I could get another cool cast on it.
