What is your favorite band of all time?

The answers (in order recieved):

  • favorite band of all time is TOO hard to decide!! oasis is good.. smashing pumpkins is good..blues traveler is also.. too damn many to decide!

  • The Replacements. They are/were infinitely cool. I remember listening to them in the car in high school, going on road trips, and thinking that's how my life would be when I got to college.

  • Of all time?? I can't pick one....well, but then again, I guess "band" rules out all the solo singers I like...so maybe The Beatles? Just because they were and will always be classic. And you can never not be in a mood to listen to Beatles, there's a Beatles song for every possible emotion. I just love 'em!! Of course, ABBA comes in second on my list. :)

  • Cream. They gave us Clapton! :)

  • R.E.M., from the era when Michael Stipe had hair and they dressed like normal people. Gin Blossoms would be a close second.

  • That depends on what mood I'm in. If I'm feeling laid-back or wanting to relax, the it the Dave Brubeck Quartet; if I'm in one of the jump around and waste a lot of energy, then it's The Ramones.

  • I was going to refuse to answer this question on the grounds that it is impossible to judge the multitude of musical genres accurately against one another. Different individuals and bands are all excellent at what they do but virtually incomparable. However, after minimal amounts of thought I've determined that my favorite band of all time is the rubberband: most excellent for keeping things together and perfect for sneak attacks from afar.

  • Nirvana, by far and away!!!

  • I'm changing my answer. Cream is okay, but BLUES TRAVELER is so much better. Sorry for the flaky inconvenience.

  • Queen. No band could ever compare to their personality and their unique image, and still have talent.

  • Bush BUSH BUSH BuSh bUsH

  • The Michigan Marching Band. Last year. 95-96 was the best year for me. Last year's campus band and University bands were cool also.

  • Slayer

  • Def Leppard, of course! Their instrumentation is nothing short of masterly, and the dual lead guitars have a style to them that nobody has since been able to duplicate. Joe Elliott's voice is one of the most expressive, and what's more, this band is one of the few that is very melodic, in additon to being hard-rockin! As well, It is truly a thrill to see them in concert. They don't take themselves too seriously, which is always good, and to watch Rick Allen play the drums with only one arm is nothing short of awe-inspiring. While we're on this topic, it seems only fair to mention that the Leps really stand by one another, and have suffered through a number of severe tragedies, only to persevere and come out better than before. Def Leppard, the absolute finest in rock and roll.

  • DEF LEPPARD!!!

  • DEFINETLY.......DEF LEPPARD

  • Def Leppard!!!!

  • DEF LEPPARD!!!!!!!!!! No question about it!

  • Def Leppard

  • My favorite band is, OF COURSE, Def Leppard! They have survived the worst, and prove time and time again that they are the ultimate band!

  • Def Leppard!!!!!

  • Nirvana

  • Def Leppard, all the way.

  • To me, Def Leppard is by far the GREATEST band that has ever existed. I have been a devoted fan ever since the 80's and heve been to every concert they have played in Denver, CO since 1988!

  • Def Leppard!!!

  • SMASHING PUMPKINS!!!!!!

  • love is colder than death this is an interesting gothic folk band with a classical base

  • DEF LEPPARD!!!!!!!

  • The Legendary Pink Dots....

  • I used to LOVE They Might Be Giants. But lately they have lost interest for me (as everyone that knows me gasps). I'm more interested in a few mainstream bands. i.e. Beatles, REM, Queen, Pink Floyd, etc.

  • RUSH Rules... Ok REM is cool too..

  • the smiths!!!!!!!!!!! (followed very very closely by they might be giants)

  • My personal favorite is the Travelling Wilburys

  • The Corrs - they are a recently formed Irish quintet of 3 sisters and 1 brother. I say they are my favorite band of all time because I actually like ALL of the songs on their debut album Forgiven not Forgotten. Even if I liked one or two songs from a band or singer there would always be another 2 or 3 that are lousy and suck I haven't heard them on radio yet but their album is available on CD everywhere. The+Corrs are definitely worth a try.

    My answer:

The Michigan Marching Band from the late 80s. Their music was superb, as was their visual presense. (And if Tex is reading this, note that I put nothing negative in here...)
