What is something in the last 24 hours that has made you smile?

  • Watching "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy" last night - God, I love that show!! :) I fantasize a lot about the "Fab 5"...not only that I can be in their steamy man orgy ;) but that they'll swoop in and make over *my* life.

  • I had fun picking out a toy to donate to "Toys for Tots"...you can never be unhappy toy shopping!

  • I got to hold a 3-month-old baby.

  • A clever lyric on the "Last 5 Years" soundtrack.

  • A big chunk of my coworkers have the flu. The funny part was person after person calling in sick. Maybe you had to be there?

  • Hanging out with my wife and determining that the Ki-yi of a kung-fu fighting Homer Simpson would be "D'oH!"

  • Got to meet up with the parents of an old friend from college, Karen. I shared New Year's at their place in Muskegon my junior year and spend Thanksgiving with them as well. Such a blast talks about old times and dreaming about the future that God has for us in ministry. The parents are really sweet individuals who are very caring. It made me smile.

  • last night while we were at theio's, i sent benny a message: "smooches from me and leanna" and she sent back: "love you both more than i can say"

  • Hurm...in the last twenty-four hours, I've smiled at chatting with a friend on the internet for the first time in a couple weeks. That was kinda nice.

  • A co-worker e-mailed me with "Fun things to do while you watch Lord of the Rings." To wit: every time someone kills an Orc, yell "That's what I'm Tolkien about!" *chortle*

  • Snickers. The Holy Grail of Halloween candy.

  • My daughter hugged me before I left for work.

  • Seeing my partner -- we live 2,500+ miles apart, haven't seen one another since very early July, and I just arrived this evening for a two-week visit. :-D

  • My roomates abducting me from my appointed course of duties (writing papers) and chasing me around the apartment, eventually tackling me and giving me a razberry on my tummy

  • Watching Jay Leno at 10:35pm instead of 11:35pm on the east coast while on vacation for 2 weeks. Came back from vacation and I can laugh when I'm not tired. (I'm too lazy to use the VCR)

  • Last night's 'Family Guy', where Stewie was complaining because he was teething, and tried to make a time machine so he could get past the teething part. I hope my kids are like Stewie... evil and plotting. At least he has goals in life!

  • Cheesy but true. The last thing to make me smile in the last 24 hours was when my boyfriend called me.

  • That Geico commercial where the two squirrels run out in front of the car and cause it to crash....then they high five each other! :)

  • My labmate's husband recently "trimmed" his chest hair. I asked her how it was doing in the growing-back phase. The look on her face was SO worth it.
