I must defend the goal, advance the runner, deflect the pass, shoot the rock, ace the serve!

It doesn't matter what time of year, what the weather's like or even what time of day it is; If I'm not playing a sport, I'm probably wishing I was. From my first soccer team in kindergarten to the softball teams I play on now, I have always participated in sports as much as I could. I feel that all my years of playing goalie at soccer have defined my personality. Sports are a chance for me to be competitive, and an arena for me to take out my aggression. It is a good way to make friends, and a better way to spend time with them. But even more than that, it is the one thing that I can do that I can completely immerse myself in. No matter what the sport, what the score, or what the opponent, if I am playing a sport the only thing on my mind is what I'm doing, and how to do it better.

Through the years I tried my hand at (in alphabetical order) archery, badminton, baseball, basketball, bowling, curling, croquet, football, golf, handball, hockey, kickball, ping pong, soccer, softball, swimming, tennis, track, volleyball, Wallyball and probably a few that I can't think of right now.

Current Sports Teams

While I play lots of pick-up sports, these are the organized teams I play on.

Bright Orange

It's not just a color; it's a way of life

This is the co-rec softball team that I play on and manage. We emphasize having fun over winning, but we do a lot of each. I play everywhere but pitcher, and wear #14 as a tribute to Ernie Banks. There are a lot more details on the team page.

All Your Bases
nee The Baby Black Puddings

2000 Regular Season and Playoff Champions!

Our Thursday men's softball team had an incredible season in 2000. We added a new double play combination, and ran away with the league. We struggled after moving up a division, but I'm confident that our new manager, Screech, will lead us to victory. I play third base.

Blind Squirrels

Every once in a while we find a nut.

After a 14 year hiatus I recently returned to playing my favorite sport, soccer. I have played for a variety of outdoor teams in the Ann Arbor Soccer Association, but my indoor team, the Blind Squirrels, is the first team I've played on that has stuck together for more than a season. I play goalie and wear #14 in tribute to Frank Klopas.
ATF

Jack Booted Thugs

We have played together for nine seasons now, and we're finally starting to learn what we're doing. I'm an awful player, but it's a great chance to hang out with a bunch of my friends. We started out on the playgrounds, but have adapted fairly well to the indoor game. I play power forward, and wear #45 in tribute to Rik Smits.
