Bright Orange 5 - All Your Bases 4

All Your Bases struck first, plating Jon in the first. Bright Orange couldn't respond in the first, but AYB added 3 in the second. A triple by Jonathan was the big hit, knocking in Aga and John.

Those ended up being the last runs AYB could manage, as Bright Orange played nearly perfect defense from there on out. Dean's pitching was masterful, and the outfielders were tremendous. Aggressive charging of the ball and bullet throws to second prevented All Your Bases from using their trademarked extra base ability. Bright Orange did not let a base runner get past second base for the final five frames.

However, the home side was not getting runners past the keystone sack either. Aside from a homer by Donald to lead off the 4th, no Bright Orange player passed second base for the first six innings. Going into the bottom of the seventh, Bright Orange trailed 4-1, but Sabrina, Sam and Elaine were due up, and that sounded like some runs.

Sabrina led off the inning with a single, and Sam followed with one of his own. Kevin pinch-ran for Sam and Elaine singled to knock in Sabrina. Eric's single brought home Kevin, and reduced the lead to one. Alayssa was robbed, bringing up Nathan. Nathan rapped a double to knot the score, and put the game winning run on third. Steph laced a single into right, Eric socred and Bright Orange emereged victorius from a defensive struggle.
