Introduction to Theatre & Drama
Fall 2002-03

This survey course is offered each semester by the Department of Theatre & Drama for students of all majors. Dr. Bert Cardullo gives weekly lectures and outlines paper assignments, but graduate student instructors are responsible for grading all papers and for designing their own syllabus and course plan to supplement Dr. Cardullo's lectures.

Discussion section objectives:

  1. To further explore the theatrical and dramatic concepts presented in lecture.
  2. To examine closely the plays assigned in lecture from both a literary and a production-oriented perspective.
  3. To become familiar with the "constituent arts" of theatre (acting, directing, design, playwriting, architecture) through classroom experience and/or research.
