Welcome to Doug's

2002 Cross-Country Cycling Trip

Greetings!!!.  The purpose of this website is to chronicle my experiences on the 2002 PAC Tour

Southern Transcontinental bicycle trip that I participated in from September 8th through October

2nd.  The journey started in San Diego, CA and ended 25 days later in Charleston, SC,  and

covered 3,012 miles and 96,629 feet of climbing.  The longest day was 157 miles, the shortest

was 90, and the average day was 120 miles.

Thanks for coming along for the ride....a ride that Bicycling Magazine has rated "one of the

toughest tours in the world.".  It was indeed one heck of a lot of fun.
