About Me

Professional:

I will be on the economics job market in 2013-14. I was born in Reston, Virginia, and moved to Dayton, Ohio at the age of 10. I completed my undergraduate studies in economics, political science and math at The Ohio State University. I am now finishing up my Ph.D. in Economics at the University of Michigan.

Non-Professional:

Outside of work, I have taken up reading. A list of my current and recent reads in at Goodreads. My interest in economics is often trumped by my love of gadgets and coffee, where I am proud to report that my most recent venture is learning how to integrate graphical processing units into my simulation programs. It is my strong belief that the best coffee comes from the mountainous regions of Central and South America with Pacific exposures that are low in acidity and medium bodied (aside from that, I am ok with any coffee that is black). I am generally interested in topics at the intersection of economics, retirement, and psychology, which points the way for my future research, but as of now provides ample dinner party conversation.
