- Congressional Briefing on Teacher Education
On June 18, Deborah Ball presented on Capitol Hill at a congressional briefing on teacher education. Ball’s testimony focused on the need for a coherent system to supply skilled teachers to every classroom and to every student in this country. She outlined the key components of the U-M Teacher Education Initiative (TEI) and the steps that group is taking to supply beginning teachers who have the necessary skills and competencies to teach on their first day in the classroom.
