- Meeting with U.S. Secretary of Education
On April 23, Deborah Ball met with U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan and five other mathematics education experts in Washington, D.C. to discuss priorities for mathematics education in the United States. Topics up for discussion included discussion of the standard or metric for the measurement of progress in U.S. mathematics education and steps that the Department of Education could take to improve mathematics education by that standard or metric over the next 3-5 and 10-20 years.
