Eurichs and Spindlers

Notes

Johan Heinrich (Henry) Spindler

1920 Saginaw census, ED 205: Henry Spindler, 28, b Russia, became citizen 1907, machinist in shop, wife Amelia, 23, b. Russia, not a citizen, sons Walter 4 7/12 and Julius 1 3/12. All living on Williams St. Census enumerated Jan 29, 1920.

The only proof I have of death date is memory of Amelia Bare saying that her uncle Henry died on her 15th birthday. Up until recently I wasn't sure which side (Eurich or Spindler) this uncle was on. Census records confirm that he wasn't there in 1930.
Birth date is translated loosely from Julian one (Dec 30, 1890) given on the family's parochial certificate.

Amelia Ruppel

Amelia Spindler, 23, widow, b. Russia, living with sons (census taker put question marks after; probably didn't speak German) Walter, 15, and Julius, 11, on Williams St in Saginaw, MI, 1930, ED 53. Doubtful that her age is correctly recorded; year of her immigration is 1908.

Albert Aab told me that Henry Spindler married a Ruppel girl (Jul 2001).

Walter Spindler

In Amelia Bare's address book:
Walter Spindler b. 5/27/1915 d. Nov 3 1993-- 33430 Hunter, Westland, Wayne Co, MI

Andreas Eurich

Family link is just speculation based on being in Saginaw in the 1920 census, near the Christ Mertz household: Andrew 55, immigrated 1911, born Russia, German, both parents born Russia, German, worked for Sonora (sp?) Corp, wife Christina 58, born Russia..., sons Andreas Jr 22 and Alexander 17, both born Russia.
By 1930 they were still living in Saginaw, near both John Weitz and Jacob Weitz, with just a grandson John Eurich, age 22, born Russia.

Saginaw Daily News, Feb 5, 1932, p 26: "EURICH -- Andrew Eurich, 67 of 642 Division Street, died Friday at University Hospital, Ann Arbor. He was born June 2, 1864, in Russia and married there in 1883, to Miss Christina Maier. In 1911 they came to Saginaw. Surviving are his widow and seven children, John and Henry Eurich, Unionville, Alex Eurich, Battle Creek, Mrs. Gottlieb Bolger, and Mrs. George Becker, Mrs. Hector Demers, Shields, and one daughter in Russia."

Christine Meyer was born Nov 4 1861 in Russia where she was married on Feb 15 1883 to Mr. Eurich. The family moved to Saginaw in September, 1911. Mr. Eurich died Feb. 5 1932. Mrs. Eurich was a member of St John's Lutheran church, Bliss and Elm. She leaves three daughters, Mrs. Gottlieb Bolger, Mrs. George Becker and Mrs. Hector Demers, all of Saginaw; two sons, Alex of Battle Creek and Henry of Hemlock; 34 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
