Selected Families and Individuals

Notes

David BARE

At least two David Bares born between 1816 and 1821 married an Elizabeth. One went to Indiana along with Isaac and Peter Bare before 1850, and one stayed in Preble Ohio. Another David married Elzina and was in the Somers Twp Preble Co census in 1850.

David and Elizabeth are included in land transactions involving the entire family (i.e. 12-15-1842, Preble Co, p 134). A David Bare is also listed as having bought 160 acres in Huntington Co, IN in 1849.

David Bare, age 29 born Ohio is in the 1850 Huntington Co IN census along with Isaac Bare's and Peter Bare's households. Wife Elizabeth age 29 born New Jersey, sons Joseph 6 Ohio, Jacob 3 Ohio, and Samuel 1 Indiana.
This would appear to be our Isaac's brother.
This David, age 50, and Elizabeth, age 50, are in the 1870 Cleveland Twp, Whitley Co IN census, p 339, with sons Joseph, 27, b. OH, Jacob, 23, Samuel, 21, John, 17, Mary Jane,13, and Alice, 3, all b. IN. (Though Jacob probably not.) Real estate value 4200, personal 950.

IGI lists Mary Bare b. 1857 Huntington Co IN daughter of David Bare & Elizabeth. Mary E. Bare is the wife of Jacob Parrat, m. May 8 1878 in Huntington. I've got her listed under Peter, based on census records and DrG's website.

Ancestral File submitted by Clyde Bair et al has David born 1826 Preble m. Elzina Davis 1846 Preble and daughter Isabella Bare b. 1847 Preble. This agrees with the 1850 census, Somers Twp Preble, p285. There Elzina, David, and Isabella Bare lived with the David Davis household.
