Alpine Parents Of 14 Children To Observe Their Golden Wedding Day On Monday

WOODS CROSS, Nov. 26.--Honoring the golden wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph E. Bair, a family dinner will be held Monday in Alpine, where the couple lived for many years. A reception for friends and neighbors will be held from 6 until 9 p.m.
The couple are pioneer Idaho homesteaders. They made their home in the Eagle Rock country near Idaho Falls, soon after their marriage in the Logan Temple, Nov. 28, 1888.
Later they moved to Alpine, where they lived until 15 years ago, when Mr. Bair went into the sheep business near Glenwood Springs, Colo. Recently they moved to Woods Cross. In the winters they do temple work.
Mr. Bair was born in Eaton, O. Dec. 19, 1862. He has been active in Church work, filling a mission in the Western States.
A native of Woods Cross, Mrs Bair was born there Nov. 23, 1862 a daughter of Daniel and Melvina Moss. They are the parents of 14 children, eight of whom are living. They have 33 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

(Maud) Avanelle Garretson

"Williams, M. Avanelle - Of Clio, age 88, died Monday, April 15, 2002 at McLaren Hospice at Homewood Village. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Thursday, April 18, 2002 at the O'Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio, Rev. Roger Gedcke officiating with burial in Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2-8 PM with an Eastern Star Memorial Service being held at 6:45 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association, Humane Society of Genesee County or charity of one's choice. Avanelle was born November 18, 1913 in Huntington, Indiana, the daughter of the late Milo and Goldie (Bare) Garretson. She had resided in the Clio area most of her life. Avanelle married Theron H. Williams in Zanesville, Indiana on September 24, 1933. He preceded her in death October 7, 1983. She was employed with the Clio area schools, retiring in 1974. Avanelle was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church and the Eastern Stars in Clio. She was an avid bridge player, was an award winning seamstress and china painter. Surviving are: children, Roxy and husband Ed Nyberg of Linden, Sandra Ellswroth of Panama City Beach, Florida; 2 grandchildren, Steven and wife Trish Ellsworth of Chandler, Arizona, Michael and wife Renee Ellsworth of Clio; 2 great-grandchildren Rebecca and Christian Ellsworth of Clio. Avanelle was also preceded in death by her sister Zelda Shroyer and son-in-law Clif Ellsworth. A special thanks to all the care associates at Homewood Arbors that took care of her during the past year."

Jacob Foreman is listed in the New Lexington, Twin Twp Preble OH 1830 census, 50-60, 2 daughters 15-20 and 20-30, and wife 50-60. Not listed in the 1840 Preble census.

marriage between Jacob Foreman and Elizabeth Paulus is reportedly listed in Chronicles of the Scotch-Irish Settlement in Virginia extracted from the original court records of Augusta County
1745-1800, Marriage Licenses, Marriage Bonds, and Marriages. 1800-1801, page 339."

There is a Jacob Foreman near a Jacob Bare in York Co PA 1790 census (transcribed version p 284, census image 6/35, mixed twp). Next door to JForeman are Valentine and Michael Foreman. Fuhrman's Mill Road is just east of Littlestown (now Adams Co) -- in the Hanover, Codorus Creek area of southwestern York Co.
The York Fuhrman was also in the 1810 Mannheim Twp York census, p 134 and p 137. But a Jacob Forman is listed in the 1810 Augusta Co VA census, consistent with the ancestral file of Clyde Bair.
