Harry E. Bare
Harry E. Bare, 89, a resident of Byron Health Care, Fort Wayne, died there at 6:45 p.m. Monday (Jan. 12, 1998).
Mr. Bare, a former resident of Andrews, worked as a conductor for the Erie Railroad for 30 years. He was a member of the Andrews Conservation Club.
He was born May 7 1908, in Andrews, to Linn and Martha Owens Bare. He married Opal Smith Aug 2, 1930, in Huntington; his wife died Feb. 21, 1958.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Donald (Janet) Hammel, Wabash; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Joanna Stanley; three sisters, Dora Ellet, Naomi Johnson and Marie Harris; and three brothers, Gurvis, George, and Art Bare.
Calling is 11 am to 1:30 pm Wednesday at the Deal-robbins & Van Gilder Funeral Home, Andrews Chapel, where services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday with Rev. Raymond Waldfogel officiating. Burial will be at the Riverside Cemetery, Andrews.

1930 Marion Twp Grant Co IN census (Dist. 9) lists Hannah McEntire, 76, widow, on Eleventh St in a multiple family dwelling.
Acc to death certificate index (fr Marion Public Library), 75-yr-old Samuel died at Grant Co Hospital after he was struck by an automobile, thrown to the pavement, and fractured the back of his skull. Contributory "careless or thoughtlessness", acc to County Coroner DL Stout.
Marion Daily Chronicle, Sat 9 Nov 1929, page 1 col 7: "M'Entire Rites to be Monday -- Funeral services for Samuel McEntire, 75, 115 East Eleventh Street, will be held at the Church of the Brethren at 10:30 am Monday with Rev JW Norris officiating. Burial will be in the IOOF cemetery. McEntire was fatally injured Thursday night when he was struck by a car at Eleventh and Washington Streets, as he was walking across the street. He died at 4 am Friday in the Grant county hospital. The body was removed to the Needham funeral parlors Friday and prepared for burial. It will be taken to the home of a son, Chester, 220 W. Eleventh St., today. Surviving are the widow, Hanna; one son, Chester, Marion; a sister, Caroline, Huntington, and a brother, John, Chicago."
Marion Leader Tribune, Wed 18 Sept 1940, p3c4: "Mrs. Hannah M. Entire, 87, former Marion resident, died at 8:30 pm Tuesday at her home in Andrews, after an illness of two months. Mrs. McEntire was the widow of Sam McEntire, who died 12 years ago. After the death of her husband, Mrs. McEntire made her home with her son, Chester McEntire, manager of the Yellow Cab Co. here, until three years ago, when she moved to Andrews to reside with her sister, Mrs. Minnie Owens. Mrs. McEntire was born in Polk township, Huntington County. Surviving are the son, Chester, Marion; the sister, Mrs. Owens, Andrews; four brothers, Lin Bare, Andrews; Charles Bare, Huntington; Henry Bare, Polk township, Huntington county, and Frank Bare, South Bend; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, and a great-great-granddaughter. The body was taken to 805 South Adams Street to remain until time of the funeral services. The funeral will be held at 2 pm Friday at the Church of the Brethren, West Second Street. Burial will be in IOOF cemetery."

Listed in 1880 Lancaster Twp census as 25-yr-old living with Samuel, age 26, father-in-law Joseph, age 62, and brother-in-law John, age 17.
Listed in 1870 Polk Twp Census as oldest daughter age 18, with stepmother Lydia 12 years older.
