Marilyn Shrude

Composer and pianist MARILY SHRUDE is professor and chair of the Department
of Music Composition/History at Bowling Green State University. With
degrees from Alverno College and Northwestern University, Dr. Shrude is the
recipient of numerous awards and honors, including the Kennedy Center
Friedheim Award for Orchestral Music, Phi Kappa Phi Award for Creative
Achievement, Dean's Award for Promotion of Contemporary Music at BGSU,
American Academy of Arts and Letters Award in Music, and Chamber Music
America/ASCAP Award for Adventuresome Programming at BGSU. She has served
as chair of theory and composition at Interlochen Arts Camp as well as
Visiting Professor of Composition at Indiana University. Dr. Shrude is
member of the International Alliance of Women in Music and she has recorded
for the Orion, Ohio Brassworks, Centaur, Neuma, Capstone and Access labels.
