KALISTOS CHAMBER ORCHESTRA FEATURES WORLD PREMIERE BY DAVID CARPENTER AND RENOWNED CELLO SOLOIST DENNIS PARKER IN ONLY BOSTON PERFORMANCE
Boston, MA (September 2, 2004) – Kalistos Chamber Orchestra opens its third season with the world premiere of David Carpenter’s Overture Apollo as well as a Boston premiere of Liduino Pitombeira’s concerto for Cello and Orchestra.  Written in 2000 and dedicated to our featured soloist, Dennis Parker, the work incorporates folk and rhythmic elements of his native Brazilian culture with sonorities and characteristics of other Latin cultures as well as American Jazz.  This concert is the only opportunity for Boston audiences to hear the internationally acclaimed Parker’s interpretation of this tremendous new concerto.

Tickets are $20 for adults, $10 for students/ senior citizens, and are available at the door or by calling 617-393-1960.
