Thomas Gregory graduated in 1996 from the Guildhall
School of Music and Drama in his hometown of London. From then he continued
his studies at the University of Michigan, completing both a Masters and
Specialist degree. He studied with the eminent Danish Cellist Erling Blondal
Bengtsson. During his time in Michigan, he performed often as soloist, including
a performance of the Walton Concerto with the University Symphony Orchestra.
Thomas also received a fellowship from the Aspen Music Festival in Colorado,
which he attended for two summers. Amongst orchestral and operatic performances,
Thomas also gave a recital in neighbouring Snowmass Village with pianist
Thomas Hoppe.
Thomas's work as a composer, took him to the States in January 2001, where
he performed his 'Music for Four Cellos', written specially for the occasion.
Performances were held in Ann Arbor and Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, with
the contemporary ensemble 'Brave New Works'.
Thomas's solo engagements have included recitals in London, Louisville Kentucky
and Ann Arbor Michigan. Recent concerto engagements include a performance
of Beethoven's Triple Concerto in Illinois, and the Dvorak Concerto in London.
Thomas is currently situated in London.
