Application Application Instructions [note application deadline is passed and composition students have been selected. Please do not enquire about additional composition spots.] The Postmark Deadline for applications is March 15, 2003. Applicants ages under 25 are invited to send scores for 2 original works. Works in progress are acceptable, but at least one work must be complete and ready for performance. 1 piece should be a solo piece or a small ensemble piece of no more than three instruments drawn from the following instrumentation : 1 flute, 1 clarinet, 2 violins, 1 viola, 1 cello, 1 piano, 1 harp, 1 voice[soprano]-instrumentation of Brave New Works. The large ensemble piece should also be drawn from the same instrumentation as Brave New Works. No exceptions to this rule. If you add an extra instrument above and beyond BNW it will not be considered. Acceptance to the Bounding Board Project does not guarantee performance of all works. One composition by each participant will be performed at the Bounding Board Project. Please mark all scores clearly with composer's name. DO NOT SEND ORIGINAL MANUSCRIPTS . Send only photocopies or printouts. The Bounding Board Project is not responsible for lost or damaged scores. Scores should be appropriately legible. Applicants should ask a music teacher or mentor who is familiar with their musicianship to fill out the Reference Form. Multiple references are allowed. The reference form can be sent with the application or under separate cover. If sent under separate cover, it is recommended that applicant supply their reference with a stamped envelope addressed to the Bounding Board Project. Applications accompanied by a self-addressed stamped envelope will be returned to applicants after review. Applicants will be notified of their acceptance by April 15, 2003. The remainder of tuition is due on June 7 at registration, 2003. Housing will be available to all students. Students are housed on the Medford Campus at Tufts University. All facilities are within walking distance. A welcome dinner Friday evening and a picnic lunch on Friday afternoon are also provided. All events are held on the campus of Tufts University Students are expected to have their own health coverage in the event of an emergency.
