Intro

Chongxing Fan is a fourth-year Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Climate and Space Sciences and Engineering. His past research experiences were related to aerosol-climate interaction. He is now advised by Prof. Xianglei Huang and his research interests include satellite data analysis and machine learning application in climate sciences. He has published two papers about solar farms’ radiative effects observed by satellites and one paper about the aerosol-climate interaction. His proposal on studying solar farms’ effects based on climate models was selected by the NASA FINESST program and received a $150,000 grant. He has received Rackham International Students Fellowship due to his academic achievements. Chongxing is an MICDE 2019-2020 Fellow. He has obtained his Certificate of Graduate Studies in Computational Discovery and Engineering in April 2022.
