Making a Simple Cartoon
This page was developed Christmas Day 2001. Brent got a
Digital Movie Creator Camera
and we decided to take it out for a spin. First we made some live action
movies to learn the tool, and then we began decided to do some simple animations.
We called the first animation Disco Turtle because the Disco music seemed most appropriate.
Continuing in the same theme, we animated an action figure from Dragon Ball
Z called Goku. Following in the disco theme, we called this one
Disco Goku.
After that, we got bored with stop motion and decided to do a simple
cel animation. About the time dad was making a background, Brent decided to
do the "making of" this animation. He used a hand-held camera with a pretty
shaky style - you can see that the animator (dad) did not always cooperate
because you see a lot of the back of dad's hands. But Brent persevered
and produced his short documentary called
Making a Simple Cartoon.
